  4. Almost 20 years ago, Nike set out to craft a shoe that delivers peak performance for athletes while reducing manufacturing waste in the process. In reality, Nike Air Presto Mujer what it created was a war that would give rise to hundreds of thousands – if not millions – of dollars in costs and stretch over years and Nike Air Max 90 Womens continents. Inside Nike’s ultra-secretive Beaverton, Oregon headquarters, this shoe took the form of years Nike Air Max Tavas Mujer of intensive research and development, and expenses that CEO Mark Parker thought the $86 billion sportswear giant might Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 Mensnever recoup. But then in February 2012, Nike debuted what was deemed to be the most momentous innovation in the fiercely competitive, and multibillion-dollar-earning sneaker market in years. It was Flyknit. The technology, itself, uses Nike Air Max 97 Womens yarn and fabric variations to engineer “a featherweight, formfitting and virtually seamless upper.” In addition to “a precision fit,” the woven upper of Flyknit footwear – the first sneakers to bear an upper that consists of a single piece of Nike Air Max 95 Femme material, as opposed to one derived from different pieces stitched together – results in little to no waste in the manufacturing process. www.daviddenardi.fr With roots at Nike that date back to at least 2000, when the Oregon-based sportswear giant made its very first prototype in working to create a sneaker with a woven-fabric upper, the technology represents “the right direction for Nike, from both a bottom-line and an environmental perspective,” Parker told the Wall Street Journal in 2015. And it has performed. In the five years since its initial release, sneakers that bear the Flyknit technology have brought Nike Air Max 95 Mujer in upwards of $1 billion in sales for Nike.Within five months of the debut of the Nike Flyknit came another striking development: adidas unveiled knitted Nike Air Max 270 Femme footwear of its own, Primeknit. Hailing the product as "a first-of-its-kind running shoe,”Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34 Womens adidas’ Primeknit was borne from a method that involves digitally knitting a single piece of fused yarn to create a single-thread Nike Air Max 90 Damen upper and reduce material waste. One way to add a little character to an otherwise all-white sneaker is to go with a low-key Nike Air Max 270 Womens gum sole. Oh, and if it's from legendary shoemaker Berluti? Adidas told me they were working on a similar Nike Air Max 95 Womens technology to Flyknit," trusted footwear analyst Matt Powell, told OregonLive, "but I had no idea it was this similar."The likeness of the adidas’ shoe to that of its American rival’s Flyknit was unmistakable.Adidas called its Primeknit Nike Air Max 2017 Mujershoe “one of [its] most exciting and sustainable products ever.” Nike called it a copy.“I am not surprised at the admiration – and the imitation – [the Nike Air Max 97 Donne Flyknit] has generated," Mark Parker told a crowd of shareholders at Nike’s annual meeting in 2012. In the wings, the sneaker juggernaut’s sizable legal team was readying for battle: adidas would soon be on the receiving end of a swift and strongly-worded lawsuit, not terribly unlike the 2006 suit that Nike filed against its archrival, claiming that it was making footwear using elements of patent-protected SHOX technology. The world’s largest Adidas Arkyn Womens sportswear company wanted adidas’ Primeknit footwear shut down and it wanted it done now.

  6. Packers Snap Counts: Oren Burks & bubble WRs got extended looks vs. Titans Tallying up the snap counts is always an interesting exercise in regular season football games Youth Randall Cobb Jersey , but in the preseason it probably leads to far more interesting and valuable conclusions. The Green Bay Packers defeated the Tennessee Titans 31-17 on Thursday night and they divided up their snaps across all levels of the depth chart. However, there are plenty of useful observations that we can make by looking at these numbers. The Packers out-snapped the Titans by a wide margin in the game — 93 to 65 — and it showed in the final time of possession, which went 35:34 for Green Bay to 24:26 for Tennessee. The Titans actually led in TOP by a few seconds at the half, but a 7:45 drive to start the third quarter and a quick Titans turnover two series later gave the Packers a huge edge overall. Here’s a look at how the playing time broke down.OFFENSE (93 plays)QuarterbacksDeShone Kizer 37, Tim Boyle 32, Brett Hundley 24Kizer led all the Packers quarterbacks in total snaps despite running just two series; both drives ended inside the Titans’ five-yard line (one had a failed fourth down and the other was a touchdown). That high snap count was due to a multitude of penalties by both teams on both drives. Meanwhile Hundley got three series early on, resulting in one scoring drive and one turnover (that wasn’t really his fault).Boyle took over with about six minutes left in the third quarter and showed off his deep ball, connecting on big plays with Equanimeous St. Brown (for 28 yards), Marquez Valdes-Scantling (a 15-yard touchdown), and Jake Kumerow (a 52-yard bomb for a score). He also hit an open J’Mon Moore right in stride on what would have been another explosive play, but Moore dropped the football. All told, all three quarterbacks had positive moments throwing the football, interspersed with some reasons for concern, and each threw for over 100 yards on the day.Running BacksJoel Bouagnon 34, Ty Montgomery 29, Aaron Ripkowski 21, Akeem Judd 17, Jamaal Williams 13It wasn’t a big day on the stat sheet for the Packers’ runners, with no player racking up more than 30 yards from scrimmage. However, Williams had a few tough runs early and he scored the Packers’ first touchdown on a reception in the flat, while Bouagnon added a goal-line score in the third quarter. Montgomery was particularly impressive in pass protection, as he picked up multiple blitzes that allowed his quarterbacks enough time to get the football out of their hands.Wide ReceiversEquanimeous St. Brown 44, J’Mon Moore 42, DeAngelo Yancey 40, Jake Kumerow 39, Marquez Valdes-Scantling 38, Geronimo Allison 27, Davante Adams 8, Kyle Lewis 3Predictably Youth Clay Matthews Jersey , the five bubble receivers who are auditioning for jobs (including the three draft picks) each got similar numbers of snaps. However, it appeared that Kumerow and Moore did not show up on the field for the first drive with the “starting” offense. St. Brown and Valdes-Scantling were impressive, as MVS led the way with five catches for 101 yards and a touchdown and EQ caught four balls for 61 yards.Kumerow was largely quiet early on, thanks in part to some inaccurate passes from the Packers’ quarterbacks in his general direction. However, he appeared to run crisp routes throughout the contest and hauled in a 52-yard deep ball from Boyle up the left sideline late in the game to put away the win.Moore caught three passes for 27 yards, but his drops will be the story of the game. Including plays that were erased by penalty, Moore saw nine targets, but at least three of them were catchable balls; two were contested and one was the ugly drop on what could have been a long touchdown. He also added a holding penalty on a kickoff return.Yancey caught just two passes for 10 yards.Tight EndsEmanuel Byrd 28, Robert Tonyan 26, Kevin Rader 21, Lance Kendricks 13, Ryan Smith 13, Marcedes Lewis 8The Packers also gave some young tight ends extended action, though they were not heavily involved in the passing game. The only receptions came from Tonyan (for 10 yards) and Smith (seven yards). Offensive LinemenAdam Pankey 70, Kyle Murphy 61, Dillon Day 58, Jason Spriggs 51, Kofi Amichia 51, Justin McCray 42, Byron Bell 42, Alex Light 33, Austin Davis 33, Lucas Patrck 13, Corey Linsley 12The Packers’ tackles struggled heavily against the ones and twos for Tennessee, particularly Bell and Murphy. Each was beaten for multiple pressures and turnover plays — Murphy allowed a strip-sack to Harold Landry on a speed rush (which Patrick luckily recovered) while Bell allowed Gemil President to hit Hundley while he threw, leading to an interception. All told, Bell gave up six pressures and Murphy four, according to Pro Football Focus. When Tennessee got into their reserves, the Packers’ backup linemen fared better; Boyle had plenty of time to throw for much of his stint in the game. One oddity was the fact that Bell got the start at right tackle ahead of Spriggs http://www.authenticsgreenbaypackers.com/cheap-nick-perry-jersey , who came on later. Mike McCarthy only said after the game that “something happened” this week to lead to that decision without elaborating.DEFENSEDefensive LinemenMontravius Adams 34, James Looney 32, Dean Lowry 27, Joey Mbu 17, Conor Sheehy 17, Tyler Lancaster 16, Kenny Clark 11With no Mike Daniels or Muhammad Wilkerson, the Packers leaned on their trio of reserves heavily — it’s clear to see where the distinction is between the second-team line and the third unit. Adams had a few nice moments and Lowry remains solid, while Sheehy had a few nice plays against the run.Outside LinebackersReggie Gilbert 35, Kyler Fackrell 35, Vince Biegel 22, James Hearns 17, Chris Odom 14, Kendall Donnerson 7Gilbert and Fackrell started the game on the outside and it’s clear from this game that Gilbert is ready for extended NFL action, even against starting tackles. He repeatedly set a good edge against the run and drew at least one holding penalty, and PFF credited him with four pass rush pressures in 19 snaps. The other players were just okay, aside from one impressive play early in the fourth quarter. Donnerson — whose speed and athleticism are obvious — still needs to learn the finer points of football, but he stripped running back Akrum Wadley on a carry up the middle, and Biegel recovered.Fackrell recorded the Packers’ lone sack in the stat sheet, but it was on a scramble by backup QB Blaine Gabbert that went for no gain.Inside LinebackersOren Burks 41, Greer Martini 29, Ahmad Thomas 27, Blake Martinez 13, Naashon Hughes 10, Marcus Porter 9Unsurprisingly, Burks played with both the starting defense and the second string, and although he allowed several completions, he shut each of them down quickly after the catch was made. Only one of those receptions went for a first down, as Burks finished with six total tackles to lead the team.Thomas and Martini both flashed a bit as well; Thomas got a hit on a quarterback in pass rush and recorded three tackles Youth JK Scott Jersey , while Martini lined up with the first-team kick coverage unit and picked up three tackles (one on special teams).SafetiesMarwin Evans 37, Raven Greene 26, Kentrell Brice 21, Jermaine Whitehead 19, Josh Jones 14, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix 10The safety position was the only one hit by notable injury on Thursday night; Whitehead left the game in the first half with a back injury and Jones went to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion. In addition to these players taking snaps on the back end, Quinten Rollins also lined up at free safety a few times, likely filling in as well as to see if he can show anything there since he has struggled elsewhere.CornerbacksJosh Jackson 34, Josh Hawkins 26, Demetri Goodson 25, Lenzy Pipkins 24, Quinten Rollins 22, Herb Waters 20, Donatello Brown 14, Davon House 10Jackson didn’t show up much on the stat sheet, but he had good coverage for most of the game — far better than his veteran counterparts, even though he got called for a holding penalty in the first half. That was an extremely questionable call, however, as he was in good position and got just enough of his receiver’s jersey to make it look like he impeded the player’s progress.Rollins was burned on a big play on the first drive of the game, while House gave up a touchdown pass and Goodson got torched later in the game. Pipkins maintained his physical brand of play, racking up five tackles, and he also recorded the Packers’ only pass breakup on the night. The Green Bay Packers got an early gift from the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon. Two men named Aaron ensured that the team would make them pay for it.After driving deep into Packers territory, the Dolphins coughed up the football. A shotgun snap sailed over Brock Osweiler’s head — which is six feet and eight inches off the ground — and Reggie Gilbert pounced on the ball, giving Green Bay its first turnover since the 49ers game. Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Jones made sure the Packers got seven points in eight plays.Rodgers completed four of five passes for 36 yards, while Jones caught two of those balls for 27 yards. He also added a pair of runs for 27 more yards for 54 total on the drive, setting the Packers up at the seven-yard line. Then it was Davante Adams’ turn. With Adams lined up on the outside of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, the two receivers ran double slants, and Rodgers found Adams in the back corner of the end zone for a diving touchdown reception:The Packers lead 7-0 after that play midway through the first quarter.

Right tackle Jordan Mills has been replaced by Jeremiah Sirles while left guard Vlad Ducasse was subbed out in favor of rookie Wyatt Teller.Mills returned after one series. So did Ducasse. They each missed one offensive drive on consecutive series.Mills has started every game at right tackle since head coach Sean McDermott was hired. Ducasse started the final 12 games of the year at right guard last year, replacing Jonathan Miller, before flipping to start the first eight games of the year at left guard this year. It’s not surprising that Buffalo is sprinkling in other players. The offensive line has been horrible in 2018. Teller was the team’s fifth-round selection in April’s NFL Draft. Sirles was signed by Buffalo at the end of September after his release from the Carolina Panthers. (It should be noted Youth Matt Milano Jersey , he was only with the Panthers for five months and wasn’t there when Bills general manager Brandon Beane and coach Sean McDermott were with the team.)

Chiefs Stock Report: Whose stock is rising Cheap Terrance Smith Jersey , or falling, after the win against the Steelers In stock market terms, securities or indices are found through technical analysis to have something called resistance levels. The idea is that there is a price that forms somewhat of a ceiling. The stock may bounce up against the resistance level but struggles to break through it. Until it does. Breaking the resistance level might be an indicator that the stock can reach levels where it hasn’t been before, setting a new ceiling and potentially a higher floor (support level). The Pittsburgh Steelers have been the resistance level for this franchise for years. Just when we think the Kansas City Chiefs are capable of competing for a conference title, the Steelers remind us that there is a ceiling. Perhaps breaking through, as the Chiefs did this week, is an indicator that the team will be able to reach a level we haven’t seen before.STOCK UPCharles LeClaire-USA TODAY SportsQuarterback Patrick Mahomes: It’s long been thought that Mahomes had a high ceiling, but that he wouldn’t reach it early in his career. People thought he’d throw many interceptions, and would take time to adjust to the pro game. Well, it appears that the pro game is going to need more time to adjust to Pat Mahomes. He’s destroying expectations thus far, indicating that we might have underestimated him, even with all of the hype. If 10 touchdowns, no interceptions and going undefeated on the road against playoff-level teams is a resistance level, what’s next for Mahomes?Confidence & mental toughness: The Chiefs have struggled to get to the next level, partially because they were unable to counter when punched. This team has won a lot of games by striking early, getting a lead, then trying to hold on. Sometimes it worked, other times momentum shifted to their opponent, and the Chiefs lacked the confidence and mental toughness to regain control of the game. This week, Mahomes and company came roaring out after halftime to regain command after the Steelers had overcome a three-touchdown deficit. Weaker Chiefs teams might have folded. It’s a great sign to see the 2018 team punch back with confidence.Left guard Cameron Erving: Surprises of the preseason included Erving being handed the left guard spot Dee Ford Jersey , ending the presumed competition, sending the other two recent starters off of the roster and getting a contract extension. The surprise of the regular season thus far for Erving is that it appears he’s proving the team correct. Erving hasn’t been very noticeable through the first two games, which is a great sign for an offensive lineman. We’ve seen a couple of highlights, without noting any embarrassing losses. So far, so good for No. 75.Philip G. Pavely-USA TODAY SportsTravis Kelce: Last week, he had a down week as it pertains to making plays, but excelled as a blocker. We rightfully assumed that his turn to be featured in the passing game would come soon enough. It did. His stat line of seven receptions, 109 yards and two touchdowns reminded fantasy owners what he can do. The way in which he dominated the Steelers over the middle and after the catch reminded teams that if they pay too much attention to Tyreek Hill, the Chiefs will make them pay.Sammy Watkins: Welcome to the show, Mr. Watkins. We’ve been expecting you. Watkins impressed in Week 2 with a 31-yard run to go along with his first 100-yard receiving game in a Chiefs uniform. He showed the speed, hands and run-after-catch ability that we hoped would be a tremendous complement to Tyreek Hill. Good luck, NFL defenses.Orlando Scandrick: The favorite subject of Chiefs fans’ ire is actually playing some decent football. Yes, he was flagged for a very costly penalty this week, but his physical style of play also yielded some positive results in coverage. His stock is up, in part because it couldn’t have gone down from last week. Perhaps Scandrick can gradually win fans over instead of reminding us of all the ghosts of cornerbacks past. The Chiefs offensive line: Only one sack allowed each week so far against two teams that can get after the quarterback. Actually, Mahomes could have avoided both, but he stepped right into the defender each time. Run blocking was a bit of an issue last week, and the numbers still aren’t great, but they seem to be trending in the right direction. We thought that Mahomes might make up for some deficiencies in the pass protection, given his ability to extend plays. It turns out he can Cheap Xavier Williams Jersey , but the offensive line is starting to play better as a unit as well. At least they didn’t let the Steelers bully them this time.Others trending in the right direction: Allen Bailey, Ron Parker, Chiefs special teams, Dee FordSTOCK DOWNDenny Medley-USA TODAY SportsLinebacker/standup 5-tech, Breeland Speaks: The rookie has gotten off to a slow start. He’s getting nearly double the snaps of Tanoh Kpassagnon without a standout play to show for it. Box scores are not everything, but for what it’s worth, Speaks doesn’t yet have a tackle, much less a sack. Speaks has the size and strength to set the edge and be a difference maker against the run, but he may be finding that it takes more than that to win against NFL offensive linemen. The Chiefs’ ability to make it through a defensive play without a penalty: Penalties in the secondary wiped out two Chiefs turnovers, including one that would have been a touchdown. We can debate all day whether they were legit calls (both probably were), but it’s clearly something that the team needs to work on. For a defense that has some known deficiencies, giving opponents extra snaps and free yardage is not palatable. This defense is going to struggle taking the ball away without Marcus Peters and Eric Berry, so they have to find other ways to finish drives, instead of extending them by being too grabby.Inside linebacker Reggie Ragland: Ragland hasn’t been bad this year, but he’s shown his limitations in the passing game, and has missed more tackles than you’d like from your enforcer in the middle. He’s been banged up, so there’s hope that he’ll improve as the season goes on.Others trending in the wrong direction: Alex Ellis, Damien Williams, the three-man pass rushSTOCK FLATWide receiver Chris Conley: A mixed bag this week for Conley, with a touchdown and a late fumble (although it was caused by him trying to fight for extra yards). Conley may seem like the forgotten man on the Chiefs stellar wide receiver corps Cheap Chris Jones Jersey , but he’s a reliable blocker and will make a play now and then. Linebacker Justin Houston: I don’t want to hear about his “decline.” He’s still a difference maker for this team, even if he’s not filling up a box score every week. Safety Eric Murray: Murray has had an up and down season thus far. Against Pittsburgh, he had a chance at a sack, and he missed. That said, Murray has shown some ability to cover, as our own Craig Stout points out.Others who are who we thought they were: Anthony Hitchens, Demetrius Harris, Steven Nelson, Tanoh Kpassagnon, Tyreek HillWeek 5 True Power Rankings: Chiefs hold steady after factoring in numbers Week 5 is here, and after figuring in the data from the number-crunchers we’ve been tracking, the Kansas City Chiefs are still in second place overall behind the Los Angeles Rams. But the Jacksonville Jaguars — the team the Chiefs face at Arrowhead on Sunday — are right behind them! Here’s how the crunchers see the NFL this week:Cruncher Power Rankings for Week 5Chiefs AFC West Teams Other AFC TeamsThe Chiefs are still looking good, with an average cruncher ranking of third, which is down one spot from last week.Elo still likes the Chiefs — ranking them first — because the Chiefs are the last remaining undefeated team from last season’s top teams. The Rams — the other undefeated team — started the season from farther back in the pack, so by Elo’s reckoning, that’s only good for third right now.DVOA continues to be impressed with the overall play of the Chiefs so far — especially on offense.PE and SRS both give the Chiefs upticks in their rankings following their four-point victory over the Denver Broncos. Now let’s average the Pundit Power Rankings from Tuesday with the Cruncher Power Rankings we just showed you.True Power Rankings for Week 5Chiefs AFC West Teams Other AFC TeamsAs you can see, the Chiefs are still ranked second in the Week 5 True Power Rankings — tops in the AFC, and well ahead of their division rivals — which serves to confirm what we saw in Tuesday’s pundit power rankings.Elsewhere, the crunchers continue to like the Baltimore Ravens more than the pundits do. But although the pundits are taking notice — ranking them seventh on Tuesday — they’re not yet convinced. In the crunchers’ estimation, the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots both rise by double digits this week, and the Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers take a hard tumble. The pundits, however, didn’t see a big change with the Packers.Otherwise they agreed, giving boosts to the Patriots and downgrading the Dolphins and Steelers. Now let’s look at the grades for the week:Cruncher Grades for Week 5Chiefs AFC West Teams Other AFC TeamsNow that we’re a quarter of the way through the season, we can give the crunchers a little more credit for what they say.And here we see that the both the Chiefs and Jaguars are facing their toughest test of the season this Sunday. Both teams have faced four average (or below average) opponents thus far: the Chiefs have played the Chargers, Steelers, 49ers and Broncos, while the Jaguars have played the Giants (below average), Patriots, Titans and Jets. The only obvious difference is that the Chiefs have prevailed in all four of their games, while the Jaguars lost to the Titans.Still... it ought to be a barn-burner at Arrowhead on Sunday afternoon!Enjoy the game, and starting on Tuesday, we’ll see how the result from that game — and those from all the Week 5 games — shakes things up.
  9. Can Patrick Mahomes throw touchdown passes to 14 different Chiefs? Whatever else is true Cheap Justin Houston Jersey , Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has stirred the imaginations of those who look for unusual NFL records that could be broken. Here’s another one to examine — this one courtesy of Good Morning Football host Peter Schrager.Schrager is correct.Through three weeks of the season, 12 different Chiefs players have caught passes from Mahomes, and nine of them have caught at least one touchdown pass.Sammy Watkins caught his first touchdown pass as a Chief on Sunday, and Marcus Kemp recorded his first reception on the season.Of the three remaining pass catchers yet without a touchdown, Spencer Ware would probably be the most likely to get one, followed by Damien Williams and Kemp. But even if all three eventually get touchdown catches, that’s still just 12 — not a record-setting 14.So who’s left?Neither running back Darrel Williams or tight end Alex Ellis — the remaining offensive skill players on the active roster — have yet seen playing time. The most likely way either of them — or practice squad players like Gehrig Dieter, Josh Crockett or David Wells — are going to see the field would be if currently active players miss playing time due to injury. So how else could the Chiefs get to 14?The Chiefs don’t presently have a defensive back that seems like a good candidate to get snaps as an offensive player - like Deion Sanders did.Nor does head coach Andy Reid have much history of having linemen report as eligible receivers like Marty Shottenheimer used to do.Chiefs offensive lineman Joe Valerio became a Kansas City folk hero between 1993 and 1995, when he was targeted on tackle-eligible plays four times, resulting in four touchdown passes. But that seems odd, doesn’t it?Wouldn’t you expect Reid to be the guy who thinks of putting an eligible tackle on the field to create more misdirection for his offense, rather than the staid Shottenheimer?Barring injuries, something like that is probably what it will take for Patrick Mahomes to get touchdown passes to 14 different Chiefs in 2018.But in this season, just about anything might be possible. We’ll keep an eye on it.This Chiefs team brings back disturbing memories of the 2003 season Some Kansas City Chiefs fans are really nervous right now.If they were following the team in the early 2000s under head coach Dick Vermeil http://www.chiefscheapshoponline.com/cheap-authentic-anthony-hitchens-jersey , they remember the 2003 season, when the Chiefs had an unstoppable offense coupled with a poor defense. That combination was sufficient to bring the Chiefs to the postseason with a 13-3 record that assured a first-round bye.But then came the infamous No-Punt Game against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts scored on every one of their drives, and the Chiefs scored on every one of theirs — except for one drive ending with a missed Morten Anderson field goal, and another ending with a fumble by Priest Holmes. It added up to a 38-31 victory for the Colts. It would be a dozen years before the Chiefs returned to the divisional round of the playoffs. And now, some Chiefs fans are worried it’s happening all over again. So I thought I’d see if there’s really anything to be worried about.I picked seven commonly-used statistical categories to compare the 2003 and 2018 Chiefs on both offense and defense.Because the two seasons are separated by 15 years — and more than a little has changed in the NFL since then — I’m going to show you the bare stats, but no rankings.Instead, I’ve calculated standard deviations from average for each of these statistics, and they will be expressed as letter grades — just as we do in our True Power Rankings roundup every week. This solves two problems.First, comparing these stats with these letter grades allows us to compare these stats across the 15-year span between them; that’s one of the cool things about using standard deviations from average to compare them.Second, we won’t get ourselves worked up about differences in rankings that might not really be significant. If none of this makes sense to you, read the final part of the TPR methodology — the part with the equal-distribution graph.Or... just remember the rule: unless a grade is at least a full letter grade better (or worse) than another, the difference between the underlying stat is measurable, but not significant.Kansas City Chiefs 2003 and 2018Wow.Are you breaking out in a sweat yet?I know I am.As you can see, the statistical parallels between these two Chiefs seasons are striking.Every single one of these 2003 statistics is within a full letter grade of its 2018 counterpart — except for defensive yards given up Eric Fisher Jersey , which is worse than 2003.So looking at this data, you can’t really blame anyone who has already concluded that the Chiefs will have a very successful regular season, and then fall by the wayside to some wild-card team — simply because the Chiefs defense isn’t up to the challenge of the postseason. But it’s not time to give up on this season — not by a long shot.I say this not because I have a fan’s faith that the Chiefs defense will improve.I say this because we have already seen it improve.Yes, the Chiefs defense gave up more than 500 yards on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but they also gave up the fewest number of points they have all season — and scored some of their own to boot.It started the week before in Denver, but you could really see it on Sunday in Kansas City. They were playing with fire and passion, and it changed the outcome of both games. We’ve seen this before, you know.In 2015 — when the Chiefs started the season 1-5 — the defense gave up 26.5 points per game in those first six games. But in the last two losses — the ones to the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings — you could see something had clicked in the defense. The Chiefs lost those games, but the defense allowed just 23 points in them. And that continued.Over the rest of the season, the defense allowed just 12.8 points per game, and was a big part of the reason the Chiefs finished with 10 straight wins. That doesn’t guarantee that for the rest of the season, the Chiefs defense will resemble what it was in the last two games more than it resembles what it was in the first three. But I’ve seen this movie before, and right now, I wouldn’t bet against the Chiefs defense.However... for the sake of argument Cheap Mitch Morse Jersey , let’s say I’m wrong. I’ve certainly been wrong before.Let’s say that the last two games were an outlier, and the only way for the Chiefs to win games during the remainder of the season will be to put a lot of points on the board.Let’s say the Chiefs do just what they did in 2003, and finish the season 13-3.What’s to stop some other team from coming in to Arrowhead and taking advantage of a poor Chiefs defense?Nothing.Nothing at all.Except that there is one other thing that is different than it was in 2003:Peyton Manning is selling pizza and insurance, and Patrick Mahomes is the Chiefs quarterback. In 2003, the Colts offense under Manning was just as effective as the Chiefs offense under Trent Green— as the Colts proved in that playoff game. But in 2018, there is no team in the AFC that compares to the Chiefs offense with Mahomes and his merry band of receivers. You can argue that the Los Angeles Rams and the New Orleans Saints have that kind of firepower available to them, but neither of those teams will face the Chiefs in January.February might be a different story, but we’ll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it.So I understand if you want to worry about a repeat of the 2003 season.Based on what we’ve seen so far, it’s an entirely reasonable concern. But there’s reason to believe that in this case, history won’t repeat itself.

  13. SOUTHPORT, England -- Mo Martin has a plan for every golf course she plays, and its working at Royal Birkdale. Authentic Tyreke Evans Jersey . The 31-year-old American is among the shortest hitters in womens golf, so she figured out the widest part of the fairways and keeps hitting them. It has produced 10 birdies in two days, a pair of 3-under 69s, and a three-shot lead going into the weekend at the Ricoh Womens British Open. "Its always nice when your plan pans out," Martin said. "So its fun to be here." Michelle Wies plans did not include her searching for a flight home before the weekend. The U.S. Womens Open champion missed her first cut this year by not making enough birdies to account for too many times she had to scramble for par. She had rounds of 75-78. She still has that shiny trophy from her first major at home, though that was a small consolation. "It does still feel good," she said. "But Im disappointed in myself. I wanted to play well here." Martin was at 6-under 138, three shots ahead of Beatriz Recari (67) and So Yeon Ryu (70), who joined Martin as the only players to break par both days at Birkdale. Martin has never won on the LPGA Tour, and her plans figures to get a serious test over the final two days of a major, especially if the weather gets ugly. Here are five things to look for on the weekend of this LPGA major: MIGHTY MO: The UCLA grad passed her first big test Friday. She was among the last to tee off, when the wind usually is at its strongest. The 18-hole leader, Ayako Uehara, faded badly with a 44 on the back nine for a 79 to slip nine shots out of the lead. Martin produced a steady diet of fairways and greens. She was bogey-free on the front nine with two birdies. After back-to-back bogeys early on the front nine, she atoned with birdies on two par 5s for a 69. "Every hole, you have something to think about. Every single shot, you have something to think about," Martin said. "But theres fairway there, and theres green there, and thats what Im focusing on. ... My caddie and I just figured out where the widest parts of the fairway were, where I would have the best approaches into the greens." WIE AND ARNIE: Michelle Wie learned some history at Royal Birkdale on her way to missing the cut. She was on the cut line when her tee shot on the 16th went right and landed in a blackberry bush. She thought for a second she might get free relief because of a metal plaque in the ground that might impede her swing. But it wasnt in the way by mere inches. She took a penalty drop and wound up making double bogey. Wie was too disgusted to read what the plaque said. It was for Arnold Palmer, who in the 1961 British Open slashed a 6-iron out of that bush and onto the green to make par. He won by one shot to win his first British Open. And that daring move added to the lore of his go-for-broke nature that makes him such an endearing figure in the game. Wie listened to the details of Palmers shot and smiled. "Yeah," she said. "Didnt happen for me." ACCEPTING MISTAKES: So Yeon Ryu, a former U.S. Womens Open champion, ran into trouble on the second hole and took double bogey. She expects a few bad breaks, and some high numbers. The key is to move on, and that she did. Ryu didnt drop a shot the rest of the way and chalked up another solid round that put her in the hunt. "Links golf is always hard to predict," Ryu said. "Even when I hit the great shots, still can finish at the worst place. And when I hit the bad shots, still can finish close to the pin. So its really important, whatever the result, we need to accept it and just keep working. Today, I made a double bogey on the second hole, but I knew it was just unlucky. I just accepted it and then think about next holes, and it helped a lot." BAD STARTS: Lexi Thompson had the roughest start of them all. The Kraft Nabisco winner hit her opening tee shot out of bounds to the right. She reloaded and hit the next one out of bounds. The third shot was in play, but the ride was still bumpy. She made a 10. Just like that, she went from even par to 6 over. Thompson battled back with birdies and finished with a 77 to make the cut by one shot. GREAT FINISHES: Vikki Laing of Scotland was inside the cut line by one shot when she came to the par-5 17th. After a good drive, she hit 5-wood from 240 yards into the hole for an albatross, the rarest shot in golf. That gave her a 68, and she was at 2-over 146. 17. Womens Alfred Morris Jersey , if a fortune teller told me that San Francisco would hold the Minnesota Vikings to 17 offensive points, hold quarterback Kirk Cousins to 244 passing yards, and rack up three sacks, I would have thought that Kyle Shanahan’s squad comes out of the weekend 1-0.Instead, dropped passes, ill-timed interceptions, and missed opportunities were key factors in an opening week loss in Minnesota. While moral victories don’t appear in the standings on Monday morning, they certainly can encourage a young team. The defensive line’s performance on Sunday should be one of the bright spots that encourage the 49ers’ defensive coaching staff heading into Week 2.Let’s take a look at what former first-rounders DeForest Buckner, Arik Armstead, and Solomon Thomas were able to accomplish in Minnesota. Per Pro Football Focus, Armstead graded out the highest among the three, finishing with a 72.7, after playing in 59 of the 71 snaps. Armstead played solid run defense, but was less effective as a pass rusher. Buckner finished a close second Womens Marquise Goodwin Jersey , at 70.1, but graded relatively the same in run defense and pass rush. Thomas ranked among the worst on defense, with a 48.5 overall grade.Let’s flip over to the film, to see what made Armstead and Buckner successful. In the second play of the game, the Vikings hand off the ball to running back Dalvin Cook, who’s immediately met by lineman Solomon Thomas and Buckner for a loss of two yards. The 49ers’ studs are lined up on the right side, immediately release from their blocks and stop Cook in his tracks.Later on the same drive, Buckner gets his first sack of the season, easily blowing by the Vikings’ left guard and taking down Cousins. This was one of the quickest sacks during opening weekend, per NFL’s Next Gen Stats. In this next clip, Buckner’s high motor is on full display. The ex-Oregon lineman rushes up the field, stops, runs back to make the tackle on Cook for a six-yard loss. Defensive Player of the Year, anyone? In the first game of the season www.the49ersfootballauthentic.com , Buckner’s making his case as one of the best defenders across the NFL. In this play, he’s able to disengage from the Vikings’ lineman and chase down Cousins for a nine-yard loss on the play. Now, Buckner and fellow lineman Ronald Blair III team up for a sack, chasing Cousins out of the pocket and bringing him down immediately. The 49ers’ defenders were effective in making Cousins antsy in the pocket and then bringing him down before he could take off and run.Now in the red zone, Buckner and Armstead line up on the right side of the defense and stuff Cook for only a two-yard gain. While Buckner is still being held by the Vikings’ offensive lineman, he’s able to hold onto Cook until the rest of the troops arrive. Here is Armstead’s most impressive play of Sunday afternoon, being blocked by Minnesota tight end Kyle Rudolph and bringing down Cook for a one-yard loss on the play. Armstead routinely displayed this strength in the preseason, but it hasn’t translated well into the regular season — until now.The former Oregon first-round pick is able to disengage from the Vikings’ offensive lineman and take down Cook for a one-yard loss on the play. This is what 49ers’ fans expect more of from Armstead moving forward this season. Unfortunately, this is the play that most 49ers’ fans are going to remember from Thomas. While it didn’t cost the 49ers the game, it was a mental error that should not have happened. Everyone in the stadium and at home knew Cousins was not snapping the ball, yet Thomas (and Armstead) fell for the hard count. The 49ers’ brain trust invested three first-round picks into the defensive line, hoping for returns such as Sunday’s performance. While the Vikings’ offensive line was beat up and in-experienced, it was a strong outing from Buckner and Armstead in particular. Thomas had his problems, but if the 49ers’ run defense and pass rush is to find any success in 2018 San Francisco 49ers T-Shirt , it’s going to have be catalyzed from those three players. It won’t be cheap, but it will be worth every penny.Yes, the NFL should buy permanent peace with quarterback Colin Kaepernick. They should do it in order to end once and for all the debate about whether Kaepernick should have a job. They should do it in order to block a potential conclusion that the league colluded to keep Kaepernick unemployed. They should do it in order to avoid a My Cousin Vinny/Seinfeld finale-style trial, that will feature a parade of billionaires and multimillionaires who inevitably will contradict each other and themselves as they occupy the rare position of having to submit to authority other than their own. They should do it in order to ensure that none of the testimony, text messages, emails, or other materials created by the litigation will ever see the light of day.All of that can be done, if the NFL is willing to write a check big enough to get Kaepernick to agree to a deal. It would be not only a settlement of his collusion claim but also a full and final divorce between employer and employee, coupled with a broad and wide-ranging commitment to never talk about the collusion case, to never share any of the evidence obtained during the process with outsiders, and to never disparage the NFL or any of its teams. That’s a big part of what the league would be paying for: Silence. And to ensure that there would be no violation, the league could divide the compensation package into annual payments from an escrow account, with the ability to block those payments if Kaepernick violates any of the terms of the settlement. If Kaepernick ever blabs, then the payments would stop.Jason La Canfora of CBS recently reported that efforts to negotiate a settlement broke down San Francisco 49ers Hats , with the league and the NFL Players Association now planning for a full-blown collusion hearing, with two weeks in early 2019 eventually set aside for a real-life drama that unfortunately won’t happen in an open and public setting.Settlement talks can resume at any time, and it’s often the impending commencement of a trial that will prompt an agreement on the proverbial (or literal) courthouse steps. But if the lawyers are too caught up in their own convictions to ever be objective when it comes to assessing the strengths of the opposition’s case, a middle ground can never be found — and one side will end up being stunned by the final result, if/when the arbitrator decides that the opponent’s presentation of the evidence and its application to the appropriate legal statements makes more sense. For the NFL, the financial and P.R. consequences would be potentially too significant to justify the risk. At a time when the anthem controversy has almost entirely subsided (surely, some sort of a deal was struck between 345 Park and 1600 Pennsylvania to get a certain someone to quit tweeting about the issue), why pull the topic back to the front burner and turn up the heat? Even if the NFL wins, there will be dribs and drabs of documents and testimony that eventually land in the media, and the NFL will be fighting the battle to not look bad for weeks if not months to come. The NFL often receives criticism for not being proactive. This case presents an ideal opportunity to identify a problem, creatively predict how it could mushroom into a much bigger mess, and come up with a way to keep it all from blowing up in the league’s face.
  18. lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 38-27 in a game that offered a swing all along the rollercoaster of emotions — and the loss was far from the bad news of the day. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a knee injury in the fourth quarter and was taken to the back on a trainer cart. He was working for extra yards on 3rd and goal Quarterback Nick Mullens Jersey , and lowered his shoulder on this hit. Initially what seemed to be a shoulder injury turned out to be a knee injury. The 49ers mounted a comeback against the Chiefs, and looked like they might be able to cut the lead to one score. Instead, the injury happened, and 49ers fans have their fingers crossed heading into Week 4.This game was a roller coaster of emotions for 49ers fans. Both sides of the ball were a mess in the first half. The offense couldn’t get anything going thanks to drops and penalties. The defense had numerous opportunities to short-circuit some of the Chiefs drives, only to blow it repeatedly on third down. There were two separate 3rd and 15+ plays where the 49ers defense managed to blow it. The Chiefs scored touchdowns on their first five drives and led 35-10 at the half. The 49ers did not give up in this one, and while it came up short, it was a valiant effort. They put up back-to-back touchdowns in the third quarter, and had the ball driving to cut the lead to a touchdown. Instead Nick Mullens Jersey , the drive ended with Jimmy Garoppolo getting hurt, and then Kyle Juszczyk called for a bogus offensive pass interference call on what should have been a touchdown pass from C.J. It’s pins and needles for the next few days.Golden Nuggets: 49ers Fall To 1-4 Well, this season has been all over the map, hasn't it? A victory that felt like a loss, a loss that felt like a victory, a blowout, a slim loss Quarterback Nick Mullens Jersey , and now, an ugly loss that saw the 49ers double their opponent in every major offensive statistical category (other than points scored), and they still lost.By all means, this wasn't a hideous game in the classical sense, but a sloppy performance in which the team lost the game for themselves. While football games are entirely insignificant in the face of the problems these fires are creating across the state, they could be impacted nonetheless. The San Francisco 49ers had their second practice of the week on Friday and bumped it up from 1:50 to 12:45 because air quality was expected to get considerably worse by the time practice was underway. The 49ers have a practice scheduled for Saturday http://www.authenticssanfrancisco49ers.com/cheap-laken-tomlinson-jersey , but there is no word yet as to the status of it. 20. http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-will-hernandez-jersey , but two of their biggest names are apparently staying put.Via Ralph Vacchiano of SNY, Giants coach Pat Shurmur said he believed that both wide receiver Odell Beckham and safety Landon Collins will still be on the team after tomorrow’s trade deadline.鈥淚 see then being Giants moving forward,鈥?Shurmur said.Since Collins is in the final year of his rookie deal, his future’s very much up in the air even if he stays. But that cheap rookie contract also makes him one of their most attractive commodities if someone wanted a rental. The cap hit to trade Beckham so soon after giving him a $95 million contract would seem prohibitive anyway, but things have gone so wrong this season that nothing should be considered off the table.Of course, they’ve already traded defensive tackle Damon Harrison to the Lions for a fifth round pick, so players acquired by previous administrations such as cornerback Janoris Jenkins should probably keep their phone handy for the next day or so.Is the competition for Giants’ punt return job over? Maybe not When Hunter Sharp returned a perfectly blocked punt 55 yards for a touchdown on Friday against the New York Jets there was a natural tendency to assume that Sharp, in competition for that role with Kalif Raymond http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-janoris-jenkins-jersey , had just put down his marker and won the job. After Friday’s game Sharp was asked that question directly. Did he think he had won the job when he stiff-armed the last Jets defender and galloped into the end zone? Sharp didn’t want to admit that the thought crossed his mind, but his answer revealed that it pretty much did.“I don’t want to say anything, but I think I’ve put my best foot forward, and I’m just going to keep working,” Sharp said. Well ... maybe Sharp did win the job. Then again, there is another player who made a pretty convincing case Friday. And Sharp did leave an opening.Sharp’s rough night as a receiver — two drops and an apparent miscommunication with Eli Manning on a potential touchdown — put a damper on Sharp’s evening.“It’s honestly hard for me even to be happy about the touchdown because I have high expectations for myself,” Sharp said, thinking about his drops. “Honestly http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-connor-barwin-jersey , I just have to bounce back and keep working.”Sharp’s drops may also have kept the door open for the guy who lockers next to him, Kalif Raymond. The two 24-year-olds are similar players, both wide receivers/kick and punt returners. They could easily be competing for one roster spot, though it is conceivable that both the 5-11, 198-pound Sharp and the 5-9, 160-pound Raymond could make the final roster. While Sharp’s touchdown and total of three returns for 80 yards (26.7 yards per return) were getting all the attention, Raymond also had a nice night returning punts. He had a 35-yard return and averaged 16.3 yards on four returns.I spoke to Raymond Friday after the crowd around Sharp had dissipated. He admitted that the two had been talking about the belief that they hadn’t made enough plays during the first two preseason games.“We haven’t been playing fast enough,” Raymond said. “We made a decision to play fast http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-b.j.-goodson-jersey , let our worries go and just ball. I think it showed a little bit.”While it might have made it more difficult for him to win a job, Raymond enjoyed Sharp’s return for a touchdown.“As a returner that’s what you want, make one cut and go,” Raymond said. “It was perfectly set up for him. “That was awesome.”Return Game ComparisonPlayerPunt ReturnsAvg.LongTDsKickoff ReturnsAvg.LongPlayerPunt ReturnsAvg.LongTDsKickoff ReturnsAvg.LongRaymond believes he still has an opportunity to win the job.“I’m being confident, being patient with it and everything will sort itself out,” he said on Friday, pointing out that other teams are also watching.Raymond is looking forward to getting an extended chance on Thursday night in the preseason finale against the New England Patriots.“The fourth preseason game, that’s the tale of all tales Womens Odell Beckham Jr Jersey , man, that will allow me to go out there and play and show my abilities for four quarters,” Raymond said. “I can’t wait to see what happens.”If this were a horse race, Sharp would appear to have the advantage heading around the final turn. 21. The New York Giants will finally unveil their new-look defense when they take the field against the Jacksonville Jaguars. New defensive coordinator James Bettcher spoke to the media Thursday afternoon http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/aldrick-rosas-jersey , his first opportunity to do so in the 2018 regular season. Bettcher laid down a quick overview of what the defense needs to accomplish to win Sunday. “We’ve got a great opponent this week, a team that can run the football, as we all know – 141-ish yards a game a year ago, a team that will max protect and take some shots down the field. They’re going to get (Blake Bortles) on the perimeter with some boots and some movement passes,” Bettcher said. “Then, the thing we’ve got to do a great job of is the screen game. We’ve got to be aware of when the screens are coming, whether it’s first (down), second down, third down, and be aware of some of the set-ups for some of those things. With the receiver (Marquis Lee) out, it’s going to be – whether it’s (Dede Westbrook), (Donte Moncrief), whoever it is that’s their guy that they’re going to try to hit down the field, those are the guys that we’re going to have to be aware of and just adjust during the first part of the game.” But containing the Jaguars’ offense isn’t the only challenge Bettcher and his defense faces this weekend. On the roster turnoverAfter going 3-13 in 2017, it was expected that there would be more than the normal amount of roster change in the 2018 offseason for the Giants. What wasn’t expected was how extensive the Giants’ roster makeover would be, or how long it would last. The team made a league-leading six waiver wire claims after final cuts, and added veterans as late as Tuesday with the signing of LB Nate Stupar. All told, the team has changed 15 percent of its roster — after initially setting their 53-man roster this past Saturday. Six of those players are on the defensive side.Bettcher runs a very aggressive defense which relies on a variety of formations and disguises to keep allow it to bring pressure without being exploited by the offense. Perhaps the biggest question facing the defense heading in to Week 1 is how the Giants will integrate all the new players.“One of the things is we’ve got some great ownership in the room http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/will-hernandez-jersey ,” Bettcher said, “We’ve got some guys that are really taking a hold of what we’ve been trying to do over the last five-six months as a defense. We’ve really tried to teach it as concepts, so the guys that are here understand the concepts, then you just feed those guys as they come in pieces and they learn on the way.” “I love what we’re doing about just searching and finding and working guys through,” he added. “I’m excited about some of the guys that have come in, and I’m excited to work with anybody we bring in, because all we’re going to ask them to is to get their hand on the pylon and go to work.”On free safety Curtis RileyThat process of working players through and finding contributors started well before this week. It was assumed that Darian Thompson or Andrew Adams would take a starting role next to Landon Collins. Instead, Curtis Riley made the switch from cornerback to safety upon signing with the Giants and seized the starting job when Thompson went down with an injury in the spring. He never let that job go, and now neither Adams nor Thompson are on the team.“Curtis really from the beginning has been playing pretty well for a guy that doesn’t have a lot of time on the job at the position,” Bettcher said. “Obviously an outside guy converted inside, I think when you go look at little things like how much time he’s spending on his iPad watching tape, how engaged he is in meetings and the conversation he’s having in the classroom, then when you go out and watch the tape and he’s running around, some of the plays he’s made, obviously missed a little time with the injury, but has come off of that and really picked up where he left off. He’s a guy that his arrow is really up and I’ll be excited to watch him play this Sunday.”On Lorenzo Carter and B.J. HillThe other notable part of the Giants’ defensive roster turnover has been the rise of DT B.J. Hill and EDGE Lorenzo Carter to play significant roles on the defense.Carter was rumored to be a favorite of Bettcher’s throughout the draft process. He possesses a rare blend of length and athleticism that compares to players like Danielle Hunter, Jadeveon Clowney, Khalil Mack http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/b.j.-goodson-jersey , and Leonard Floyd. The issue for Carter isn’t his athletic ability, but rather his ability to harness it and put it to use. “(Lorenzo) is a guy that, the longer it goes with him, I think the thing I see the most is the faster he plays,” Bettcher said. “He’s starting to really understand what we’re doing and what we’re asking of him, number one, then two, just as a rusher, he’s really learning how to rush. To me, as young players in this league, that’s a year-long process that might be into year two with a lot of guys.” Hill surprised by quickly taking one of the starting spots on the Giants’ three-man defensive line, along with Dalvin Tomlinson and Damon Harrison. Hill was largely overshadowed by Bradley Chubb and the athleticism of Kentavius Street coming out of North Carolina State. But despite largely playing nose tackle or the 1-technique for NC State, Hill is plenty athletic himself, with impressive movement skills for a 6-foot-3, 315-pound lineman. “He’s just a guy that came in, he’s probably one of the most professional rookies I’ve ever been around,” Bettcher said. “When he came in the building, he was business and he understood how we needed to work http://www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com/cheap-aldrick-rosas-jersey , a guy that takes care of his body – he’s just really ahead of his age in terms of years in the league.”Hill and Carter could play key roles on Sunday.“They’re going to play very meaningful snaps in this game, play a lot of snaps in this game, and I’ll be excited to watch some of these young guys fly around and play,” Bettcher said. There's no doubt halfback Saquon Barkley is the most-hyped rookie to join the New York Giants since future Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor donned the blue in 1981.Within weeks of being taken second overall in the draft, the likable 21-year-old from Penn State had the hottest-selling jersey in the NFL. Seemingly half the kids wearing jerseys at training camp had his No. 26 look. When he touched the ball in camp, there were 'oohs and aahs' from the fans, and visions of him going to the house in the regular season to help revive a franchise that went 3-13 last season, the second-worst record in the league.Dream time is over. With the season opener at home against 2017 AFC runner-up Jacksonville on Sunday, it's time for Barkley to live up to the hype, just as Taylor did after also being taken with the No. 2 overall pick."I just want to play," Barkley said after a short practice Monday. "It's finally here. The season is finally here. I didn't get to play as much as I would like in the preseason, but now it's here and it counts now, so I am just excited to get on the road. You can tell, the energy of the team is high and we're all just excited for this game and this season."Barkley had four carries in the preseason for 43 yards. The number was originally reported as five after the first preseason game against Cleveland, but an official review silently changed it.It stayed at four after Barkley slightly strained a hamstring on Aug. 13 and didn't play in the final three preseason games. It was a precautionary move."The one week I didn't get that much practice, but after that I was back on my normal schedule," he said. "I feel pretty confident and I feel pretty good. I just have to continue to attack practice and get better. For the next week, Barkley plans to immerse himself in watching videotapes of the Jaguars' defense http://www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com/cheap-janoris-jenkins-jersey , a group that last season was the best in franchise history and is loaded with Pro Bowl players.Barkley has set some personal goals, but he hopes to focus on his next play."I'm not a numbers type of guy who says I need this many yards, this many touchdowns," Barkley said. "My goal is to attack every single day and get better every single day. The rest of the stuff will take care of itself."Barkley isn't sure how many tickets he will need for his NFL debut. His parents and his family are coming to MetLife Stadium and, of course, there might be some surprise visitors he needs to accommodate.New coach Pat Shurmur caught Barkley off-guard when he talked about the return game Monday. The Giants waived returners Kalif Raymond and Hunter Sharp over the weekend and were awarded Kaelin Clay on waivers. Clay has handled return work in games and would seem to be the best option Sunday. If they are ready, Shurmur said that Odell Beckham Jr. and Barkley would be options. He did not mention Cody Latimer, who also has experience as a returner."I'll be eager to definitely be in the mix of kickoff return. I did it in college," said Barkley, who returned two kickoffs for touchdowns last season. "I was able to help my team out in college in that area. If they, or if I show that I'm capable of doing that for the Giants, why not? It's definitely something I feel comfortable with."Don't count on it this early in the season.NOTES: LB Olivier Vernon (ankle) did not practice Monday. Shurmur hopes to have him back Wednesday. ... TE Evan Engram was on the field but remains in the concussion protocol. ... With Davis Webb being cut, Shurmur would not say who is No. 2 behind QB Eli Manning. He hinted it might be Alex Tanney instead of rookie Kyle Lauletta because he likes have a veteran behind the starter.
  22. of us” New York Giants COO John Mara said Tuesday that the contract agreement the organization reached with Odell Beckham Jr. “makes sense for both of us.” Here is the full text of Mara’s remarks.Q: You’re paying (WR) Odell (Beckham Jr.) a lot of money. What are your expectations for him?A: I think like we said in the release Cheap Landon Collins Jersey , we expect a great season out of him. I’ve had three of those so far, and he’s done everything the right way, starting back in the offseason program. He’s been terrific throughout training camp. I think he’s raring to go.Q: How important was that for him to do all of those things to get this deal done?A: It was important. We wanted him to come in with the right attitude. Obviously, wanted to see if he was healthy. I think he checked both of those boxes. Q: Are you both clear and on the same page about some of the in-game and off-field decisions he’s made? In terms of they won’t be occurring again.A: I think he’s matured quite a bit. I think that stuff hopefully is in the past. I think he’s ready to go on and be the type of player and citizen that we expect him to be, and I think he will be.Q: Was there a specific point this offseason that you changed your mind to allow yourself to give up this much guaranteed money?A: I can’t say there was one specific point. I think it evolved over a period of time. There was an intention to sign him at some point. The only question was, was it going to be this year, or were we going to give him another year to prove himself. But as I said, he came in with the right attitude. His energy level has been off the roof. He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do. We feel good about having him on our team for the next five years. Q: Giving a non-quarterback that type of money, did you have to convince yourself mentally that this is a logical decision to make?A: Not really. I don’t think it’s completely out of line in the wide receiver market. It was pretty apparent that we were going to make him the highest paid wide receiver for now. I think the deal makes sense for both of us.Q: You said you always had intentions of getting this deal done. However, you sounded a little skeptical about it in March. What changed your mind?A: I think a lot of you overreacted to that. You were asking me if anybody is untouchable. There’s nobody that’s untouchable, especially when you’re coming off a 3-13. Are we going to listen to phone calls when they come in? Yeah, of course, you’re going to do that. I think it would be irresponsible not to. But, there was always an intention that he’d be a part of this team.Q: Was there ever a point where you thought he might not be on the team because of a trade?A: I said it was a very, very small chance that was not even worth losing sleep over. We wanted him on the team. I think he knew that. We made that pretty clear to him.Q: Can you speak on the role Coach Pat Shurmur played in this? Building a productive relationship with Odell and how that factored into this decision?A: I think that’s a good point. He and Pat, I think Cheap B.J. Hill Jersey , were on the same page from the beginning. Pat obviously desperately wanted him on the team this team this year. He said to me back at the beginning of training camp, “Number 13 is pretty good, you know.” I said, “Yeah, I think we’re all aware of that.” (laughter) I think the thing that impressed Pat so much was the attitude and energy level that he came in with. I left it up to Pat and Odell to whether he was going to play in the preseason. It was kind of a mutual thing that he wasn’t. Q: Odell has allowed his emotions to get the best of him at times in the past. Does that concern you moving forward?A: He’s always going to be a high-energy guy. He’s always going to be an emotional guy. I just hope that he keeps those emotions in check. I’m sure there’s going to be some incidents where he gets excited. Just hopefully he’s going to keep it within the grounds of not incurring a penalty or doing anything else that’s going to embarrass him, or us. He’s 25, I think he’s moving in the right direction. He wants to be here. He’s really excited about being a part of this team.Q: From a negotiation standpoint, it seems like things went fairly quickly and smoothly.A: I wouldn’t say there was anything unusual about it. Some negotiations go a little more quickly, some take time. This one took probably a little more time than we had hoped. It’s not our first negotiation. At the end of the day, we’re satisfied with the deal. Judging by the video that he posted, I guess he is, too.Q: How important was it to get this done before the regular season?A: I think it was important because we didn’t want it to be a distraction. We didn’t want it hanging over him. We didn’t want him worried about, ‘What if I get hurt? I’m not going to be protected.’ So, I think that was important to get it done before he actually started playing in games.Q: Have you ever reached a point in the summer where you told yourself, this needs to be done?A: I think we were always confident that it was going to get done. It was just a matter of time. Contract negotiations can drag out. It all depends on the agent, and general manager Cheap Dalvin Tomlinson Jersey , there’s a lot of details that had to be ironed out. I was confident it was going to get done. It was just a question of when. When he went out to Detroit and took part in those practices and was full speed and looked great, he was ready to go, and we were satisfied that he was healthy and had the right attitude. It was just a question of time, that’s all.Giants news, 8/21: Offensive line “aware of the job,” more Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here are some headlines to keep you away from the work you really should be doing — and keep you up to date on your favorite team.Patrick Omameh: OL “aware of the job”Coach Pat Shurmur says of the Giants that “we’re going to go as far as that line will block for us.”One of the members of that line, veteran guard Patrick Omameh, understands the task at hand.“We are all aware of the job that’s expected of us, and we’re all ready to step up to the plate and take on that challenge,” Omameh said on Monday. “It’s just a matter of us continuing to build and improve and be where we want to be when the season hits.“It’s a process, building that communication between everybody that’s going to be working with each other, and I say the communication has progressed tremendously in several ways. As far as where we can improve, as far as that’s concerned, we feel we’re moving in the right direction.”Shurmur also said that the line “should be in a position where they block well, run and pass http://www.giantscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-alec-ogletree-jersey , that’s what we are looking for.” That, of course, is what goes into the job description for an offensive lineman.“I feel there’s no competitor who would rather put that responsibility on anybody else’s shoulders,” Omameh said. “It’s a level of responsibility I’m always willing to take. I believe I speak for everyone else in our room, saying that it ain’t no problem.“We got a great group of guys. They really did a hell of a job putting together this collection of men and players. At the beginning, we were a bunch of guys thrown together and then by the end, we become one unit and that’s what we’re becoming. We just keep on putting in our work, keep on chopping the wood and we’re going to get the results we want.”Around the Inter-GoogleGiants offensive line already loving coach’s chemistry boostThere are telltale signs and one of them goes like this: You can tell a lot about a guy by how he eats. Will Hernandez is a rookie guard and Pat Shurmur is the...Why linebacker Olivier Vernon is so excited for James Bettcher's Giants defenseThe 2018 NFL regular-season schedules dropped April 19, and so Monday marked the 124th straight day the Jaguars have been “the first game” on Olivier...Donte Deayon and Travis Rudolph running out of time to impress Giants coaches | NewsdayBoth have seen mostly practice squad time in their Giants careers, and know the clock is ticking.NFL - Ranking quarterbacks, most valuable, most accurate, most aggressive and more for the 2018 seasonWhich quarterbacks are most and least valuable? 23. statistical analysis and predictive intuition. If you get it right Womens Chris Conte Jersey , then glory and prizes and money can all be yours for the taking.Get it wrong, and it tends to lead to embarrassment, ridicule and the occasional bad haircut or funny tattoo. For those looking for some help, I’ve compiled my own list of players who you should consider starting, sitting and sleepers who just might help you get more of the first and less of the second.Good luck!QUARTERBACKSSTART: Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers (vs Kansas City Chiefs)Coming off a tie with the Cleveland Browns should give everyone a more inspired performance from the Steelers crew.Better weather (forecasted 77 degrees and cloudy), means players like Antonio Brown and Juju Smith-Schuster will have a better track to run on.Mike Tomlin looked angry following Week 1 and his anger should translate to better play accross the board. The Chiefs surrendered 424-yards and three touchdowns to Philip Rivers last week, and should be open for business again in this match-up.SIT: Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (vs New York Giants)If you ask me, the 2018 Dallas Cowboys have disaster written all over them, and Dez Bryant is going to love every minute of it.Dak Prescott looked like a quarterback who could’ve certainly benefited from the presence of a true number one receiver, and the Panthers defense looked great because of it.The Giants are going to lean on Saquon Barkley some more, and considering Dallas gave up five-yard averages to both Christian McCaffrey and C.J. Anderson, I think he’ll find room to run.Bleeding the clock will leave Prescott less time to rely on Elliott, and if the Giants can get a few three-and-outs strung together with drives led by Barkley’s ball carrying, the Cowboys are going to get one-dimensional real quick.Something in the air just feels like it’s about time for Cowboys drama and controversy to start up.Going 0-2 with a divisional loss at home seems to be just the right amount of coal to get this train moving.SLEEPER: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs Philadelphia Eagles)I can already hear the chants of ‘you’re just a homer’ echoing in the background.Listen, there’s are several reasons Fitzpatrick should be on your radar as a sleeper option this weekend. For one, he’s facing Philly’s defense. Before you get all pitch-forky about me dogging on the Eagles defense, go back and watch their Week 1 game against the Falcons. Ok http://www.tampabaybuccaneersteamonline.com/caleb-benenoch-jersey , welcome back. Did you see the inaccurate noodle-armed Matt Ryan playing in that game? Do you realize despite all of that nonsense he still threw for 251-yards and only had one interception? Granted, he threw zero touchdowns, but despite everything he still scored ten fantasy points. Tell me you watched that game and thought Ryan hit double-digits in fantasy scoring. You can’t.On the other hand, Fitzpatrick in Week 1 looked sharp, calm, and accurate as all get-out. I’m not predicting he’ll finish atop the leader board, but halfway between his 42 point outburst and Ryan’s ten point flop is 26 points, which would still land Fitzpatrick somewhere around QB5.Photo by Rob Carr/Getty ImagesRUNNING BACKSSTART: Jordan Howard, Chicago Bears (vs Seattle Seahawks)The Legion of Boom they aint, and while the Seahawks defense was always known more for their secondary, their defensive front seven was always a pretty big beast to deal with themselves. Not so much anymore. In Week 1, two rookies - Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay combined for 142-yards rushing on 30 combined carries. In fact, they had the exact same amount of carries for the same yards. Freeman’s long of the day was for seventeen while Lindsay’s came in at fourteen.Consistency against defenses is a good thing, and the Broncos got plenty of it. Jordan Howard is splitting carries with nobody, unless you count a 3:1 ration with Tarik Cohen a split, so he’ll get plenty of opportunities to exploit a defense geared up to surrender a lot of fantasy points this weekend.SIT: LeSean McCoy, Buffalo Bills (vs Los Angeles Chargers)Let’s be honest, you should have already cut McCoy. Ok, let’s be really honest, you shouldn’t have drafted anyone or thing related to the Buffalo Bills this year anyway.McCoy touched the ball ten times in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens. He totaled just 21-yards with those touches and was one of six Bills players to rush the ball Womens Demar Dotson Jersey , including two quarterbacks! This week, they draw the Los Angeles Chargers who - even without Joey Bosa - have a better defense than the Ravens do.Good luck.SLEEPER: Austin Ekeler, Los Angeles Chargers (at Buffalo Bills)The Baltimore Ravens ran the ball 34 times last week against the Bills. Know why? Because they were winning. By a lot. Against the Bills.I fully expect the Chargers to do the same, and you know this benefits the most? The back-ups!Austin Ekeler was active on two of my own fantasy rosters last weekend and had I not been on the road for work I’d have written something like this to tell you to do the same. You’d have listened, and you’d have been happy.Ekeler gained 126-yards of offense and a touchdown in his pro debut against the Kansas City Chiefs.Expect more of the same against Buffalo. Only problem here is going to be if the Chargers coaching staff starts looking at Ekeler and Gordon as two starters, in which case Ekeler may see his afternoon cut short. Especially since NFL teams have the advantage of wins and losses meaning more than the fanciness of their victories when it comes to making the playoffs.Raj Mehta-USA TODAY SportsRECEIVERS/TIGHT ENDSSTART: Jarvis Landry, Cleveland Browns (at New Orleans Saints)If you’re in a PPR league, add a little extra cheese to this start. Landry more than doubled-up the Browns’ second leading catch getter in Week 1 in receptions and targets. It’s clear Tyrod Taylor is looking to lean heavily on Landry and for good reason. He’s got really good hands.Landry got 15 targets in Week 1, and against the Saints he should get just as many. Playing inside favors Landry and Taylor, and even thought the Browns will lose, Landry will bless the Saints secondary and your fantasy roster.SIT: O.J. Howard, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs Philadelphia Eagles)Shout-out to James Yarcho of Bucs Nation for turning me onto this one. Howard is the more athletically gifted of the two Bucs tight ends, and got on the field almost 20 more snaps than Cameron Brate did in Week 1.Despite these facts, Howard was targeted just twice. Granted he caught both of them for 54-yards, but unless you’re going to be happy with seven points in one-point PPR, you need to look elsewhere. In fact, Fitzpatrick targeted Bucs tight ends just four times on forty drop backs. Even with a banged up DeSean Jackson, Tampa Bay’s quarterback simply prefers throwing to his wide receivers.SLEEPER: Ryan Grant, Indianapolis Colts (at Washington Redskins)With one week under the Colts’ collective belts with Andrew Luck back in the driver’s seat, Ryan Grant looks like a guy he’ll be looking at early and often in 2018.In Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals Authentic Jason Pierre-Paul Jersey , Grant brought in eight catches on nine targets. Problem is he didn’t find the end zone and only averaged 7.4 yards per catch with his longest being thirteen.Four times in 2017 Grant had at least four catches. He had at least one of those catches in each game go for at least 24-yards and averaged single-digit yards per catch just once.As this pair gets more comfortable with each other their averages will go up, as will their explosive plays. The Redskins on the other hand held the Arizona Cardinals to just 153-yards passing in Week 1, but each receiver targeted by Sam Bradford brought in at least half of their targets during the contest. The problem wasn’t so much Arizona receivers finding space in the defense, it was more on Bradford getting the ball to them consistently. The Colts won’t have that problem, and Grant should benefit because of it and the fact he plays opposite T.Y. Hilton.Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY SportsDEFENSESSTART: Jacksonville Jaguars (vs New England Patriots)Jeremy Hill was the most effective Patriots running back averaging 6.4 yards per carry when he left with an injury in Week 1. Julian Edelman is still out serving his suspension.Tom Brady is still Tom Brady, but against this defense he’s going to need more than just Rob Gronkowski to make things happen here, and I’m just not fully sold on Phillip Dorsett as a consistent producer just yet.Jacksonville had the Patriots right where they wanted them, and the let them off the hook. It won’t make up for the post-season loss earlier this year, but it’ll be a start when this defensive unit helps to send New England to their first loss of the season.SIT: Pittsburgh Steelers (vs Kansas City Chiefs)It’s going to be feast or famine for this defensive unit when they host Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. My bet is on famine. Mahomes fared pretty well against a superior Chargers defense in Week 1, and he did it despite Kareem Hunt netting less than 50-yards rushing on sixteen tries.Tyreek Hill is a menace to any defense and it wouldn’t shock anyone to see him return another punt for a score in this one. SLEEPER: Chicago Bears (vs Seattle Seahawks)Russell Wilson is a pretty solid quarterback, but beyond that the Seahawks are lacking in consistent offensive weapons. The Bears did pretty well against the Green Bay Packers until Aaron Rodgers unleashed an - well - Aaron Rodgers like fourth quarter.Chicago’s defense should fare a bit better against the Seattle offense than they did post-Rodgers’ return with Green Bay, and the offense should be able to lean on the running game more, further depleting Seattle’s ability to get creative.Wilson threw two interceptions last week against the Broncos, and he should throw a couple more against the Bears.Oh, and then there’s the always dangerous Tarik Cohen returning punts for the special teams unit. Seattle punted six times last week, so Cohen should get some chances to make something happen in Week 2. The Buccaneers had a big opportunity on Sunday afternoon. With a win, not only would they have gotten back above the .500 mark, but they also would have sent the division-rival Falcons to 1-5. In the end, Tampa Bay couldn’t get it done. There are plenty of reasons for the loss, but instead of getting into those here Womens Ali Marpet Jersey , let’s break down week six for the rest of the NFC South.New Orleans Saints (4-1)The Saints had Sunday off after last week’s blowout of the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. New Orleans is still the top team in the division through six weeks.Up Next: at Baltimore Ravens (4-2)Carolina Panthers (3-2)Results from SB Nation’s Week 7 FanPulse surveyThe Panthers failed to capture their third straight win on Sunday, falling 23-17 to the Redskins. Washington took an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter on two touchdown passes by Alex Smith before leading 17-6 at halftime. The Panthers got the game to 20-17 in the fourth quarter when Cam Newton and Torrey Smith connected for a touchdown and two-point conversion, but a field goal from Dustin Hopkins brought the deficit to six with 3:15 left. Newton got his offense down the field late, but the drive stalled out at the Washington 16-yard line with 38 seconds to go.The ground game was a problem for Carolina, as Christian McCaffrey ran for just 20 yards on eight carries. Newton was the team’s leading rusher with 43 yards on nine carries in addition to throwing for 275 yards and two touchdowns (to one interception) on 27-of-40 passing. Devin Funchess was his top target, catching five passes for 74 yards and a score. The Panthers outgained the Redskins 350-288, but three turnovers did them in.Up Next: at Philadelphia Eagles (3-3)Atlanta Falcons (2-4)The Falcons prevented their season from getting too out of hand on Sunday, improving to 2-4 on the year with a 34-29 home win over the Buccaneers. The offense clicked throughout, throwing all over an awful Tampa Bay defense. Atlanta got out to a 21-6 lead before leading 24-13 at halftime. The Falcons allowed the Bucs to get back into it in the second half, but did just enough to hang on. Coach Dan Quinn made a gutsy call late in the game, calling on Matt Bryant for a 57-yard field goal with just over one minute to go. He delivered to extend his team’s lead to five, meaning the Bucs needed a touchdown to win the game. But had he missed, it would’ve given Tampa Bay great field position and the potential for an easy game-winning field goal. The Atlanta defense allowed the Jameis Winston to lead a drive down the field in just over a minute, but a wild final play fell just short and the Falcons held on. Matt Ryan was excellent throughout the afternoon, completing 31 of his 41 passes for 354 yards and three touchdowns. Julio Jones led all receivers with 143 yards on 10 catches, but remains without a touchdown through six games this season. The Atlanta defense allowed 512 total yards, but came up with two interceptions in the win.Up Next: vs. New York Giants (1-5)— Monday Night Football
  24. in the Philadelphia Eagles. There were plenty of fireworks as Tampa Bay scored a franchise-high 48 points against the division rival Saints. Ryan Fitzpatrick had the best game of his career and sealed the deal with an impressive run on 3rd-and-11 in the fourth quarter. But things will be much tougher when the Eagles come to town. How will the Bucs fare on Sunday? Check out this week’s preview below. OverviewAll-time series record: The Eagles lead the all-time series at 8-6. They had won three in a row until Jameis Winston and the Bucs recorded a franchise record in rushing yards on the way to a 45-17 victory in 2015. Tampa Bay is 2-4 at home and 4-4 on the road. Playoff history: Both teams have four times in the playoffs. Three of those four meetings occurred between 2000-2002 with Tampa Bay advancing to its first Super Bowl with a 27-10 victory in the NFC Championship Game in 2002.Jameis Winston and Carson Wentz won’t face off against each other this time aroundPhoto by Mitchell Leff/Getty ImagesLongest win streak: Each team holds a three-game win streak.Largest victory: The Bucs’ 28-point win in 2015 (45-17) was the largest margin of victory.2018 offensive and defensive rankings: Tampa Bay boasts the league’s 2nd ranked offense (3rd passing Cheap Vernon Hargreaves III Jersey , 19th rushing) and the 30th ranked defense (2nd rushing, 32nd passing). Philadelphia is tied for the 29th ranked offense (18th rushing, 31st passing) and the 7th ranked defense (6th rushing, t14th passing). What to watch for:The Bucs’ offensive line vs. the Eagles’ defensive line: Tampa Bay’s offensive line was dominant in pass protection last week. How will they do against Fletcher Cox and a deep Eagles’ defensive line?Nigel Bradham’s return: Bradham was suspended for one game and his replacements in Corey Graham and Nate Gerry struggled against Atlanta. The Eagles defense just became a lot better. The Bucs’ secondary against the deep ball: Nick Foles isn’t the best at throwing deep, but Tampa Bay will most likely be down their top two corners. Mike Wallace made some nice plays for Philadelphia in the preseason - will Sunday be his day to shine?Chris Godwin: Godwin is a major mismatch against this defense and with DeSean Jackson likely out, the Bucs will look his way often.Doug Pederson vs Mike Smith: Arguably the league’s top offensive scheme against arguably the league’s worst defensive scheme. Need I say more?Impact playersTampa BayQB Ryan Fitzpatrick: The Bucs will need another big performance from the bearded wonder.RB Peyton Barber: He has to stay consistent for all four quarters in order to tire the defense.WR Mike Evans: Expect the Eagles to try and cover Evans the best they can. The question is though: can they?DT Gerald McCoy: With the possibility of Jason Pierre-Paul out, McCoy needs to step it up.DE Vinny Curry: Curry should provide a huge boost on Sunday.S Justin Evans: It will be up to him to man the back half of the defensive backfield. The Bucs are going to need Curry in a major way Photo by Jonathan Bachman/Getty ImagesPhiladelphiaRB Jay Ajayi/Darren Sproles: The Eagles love to use their running backs all over the field and the Bucs linebackers struggled big time against the Saints.UPDATE: Darren Sproles has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury TE Zach Ertz: Philadelphia’s best receiver will be looking to feast on Tampa Bay’s off-man coverage all day.WR Nelson Agholor: One of the league’s quickest receivers should have a big day in the slot. DT Fletcher Cox: Just put it this way: Fletcher Cox will eat your soul. S Malcolm Jenkins: Since his move to safety/nickel, Jenkins has been one of the best defensive backs in the league.Game OutlookTampa Bay’s win over the Saints was huge, but came at a big cost. Not only did the Bucs lose Vernon Hargreaves III for the remainder of the year, but Brent Grimes will most likely miss his second straight game. DeSean Jackson and Jason Pierre-Paul aren’t out of the woods just yet, either. Both were limited in practice on Thursday, but that doesn’t mean they are a lock to play.(UPDATE: Both JPP and Jackson were full participants in practice Friday and are expected to play)The offense doesn’t need to score 48 points again to win, but they need to be able to produce effective, efficient drives at crucial junctures in the game. The Eagles have one of the best coaching staffs in the league, so it’s easy to understand that the game will not only be won on the field, but on the sideline as well. This will be Tampa Bay’s toughest challenge to date. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are back in action this week as they take on the Atlanta Falcons. It’s their second divisional contest this season, and it’s also their second on the road. Getting a win will be crucial to getting their season back on the playoff trajectory it once was, but let’s talk about getting you onto your fantasy football league’s playoff path, shall we?First Kwon Alexander Jersey , here’s how we did last week.QUARTERBACKS (1.5/3): Ben Roethlisberger took it to the Atlanta Falcons with three touchdowns. His one interception did bring his numbers down a bit, and landed him at QB7. Russell Wilson did better than I expected, but at QB12 we’re calling that one a push. The New Orleans defense continues to look better each week, and Alex Smith fell victim to this fact in Week 5. Coming in at QB18 doesn’t reward the risk we took putting him in as our sleeper.RUNNING BACKS (1/3): Would you believe me if I said I mistakenly flipped the order of our start and sit last week? Me neither. T.J. Yeldon took off for RB5 points while Chris Thompson also failed against New Orleans’ defense. Perhaps Yeldon is finally becoming what I thought he could be - I put him on my roster every year but this one thus far in his career. Still not 100% confident in him moving forward until he shows a string of consistency. Austin Ekeler saved us here, and continues to put up RB2 numbers despite playing behind Melvin Gordon.RECEIVERS (1/3): The rough week continued here as Corey Davis just didn’t get it done in Week 5. Although, I don’t blame him. The Titans were on my ‘do not draft’ list, meaning I targeted nobody on their entire roster when going into my drafts. This is why. Odell Beckham Jr. made good on our two touchdown projection though, giving us a WR3 for our starter. Austin Hooper continues to do the opposite of what I say he’ll do - we’ll test that theory this week - and turned in a TE3 performance following his big-time letdown in Week 4. Let’s see what Week 6 Hooper has to offer, later on.DEFENSE AND SPECIAL TEAMS (1/3): The hits keep on coming. I said when we picked Denver against the Jets it was sort of a sleeper pick and the success of it would really hinge on how New York’s offense did more than anything. Well. They did good. And Denver came in at D/ST19 because of it. Tennessee couldn’t let Davis be the only one to make me regret rolling the dice on the Titans, and they turned in a D/ST18 performance as our sleeper of Week 5. Jacksonville delivered on our sit advice though, and fell to D/ST21 against the high flying Kansas City Chiefs.TOTAL (38%): Look away! Something about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers not playing just threw us all out of whack. We took some shots, and unfortunately paid dearly for our boldness. Let’s not get too safe though, you don’t come here to read, “Start Le’Veon Bell.” Although, that wouldn’t be the best advice either.Moving on! The Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints are off and the New York Giants lost to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night. Let’s check out what the weekend schedule has in store for you fantasy football enthusiasts.QUARTERBACKSJoe Nicholson-USA TODAY SportsSTART: Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams (@ Denver Broncos)Currently sitting at QB5, Goff should be able to exploit a Broncos defense surrendering more than 18 points on average to opposing quarterbacks while giving up nine touchdowns thus far. With plenty of quick targets to throw to, the Rams will likely look to use the screen game quite a bit, and should find success in doing so.SIT: Mitch Trubisky Cheap Jameis Winston Jersey , Chicago Bears (@ Miami Dolphins)The Bears beat-up on one Florida team the last time we saw them, but now they have to go in to the state to face another. Don’t expect six touchdowns from Trubisky against Miami. SLEEPER: Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (@ Atlanta Falcons)Finishing our road-trip three pack for this week’s fantasy football quarterback projections, Jameis Winston is going to be our sleeper. With Atlanta’s defense still reeling from key injuries to players like Deion Jones and Keanu Neal, we should be able to see Winston get solid time in the pocket this weekend.Time is always the friend of the offense and enemy of the defense. With so many targets running around for Tampa Bay, Winston should be able to put up solid numbers in his first week back as the Bucs’ starting quarterback.RUNNING BACKSCharles LeClaire-USA TODAY SportsSTART: James Conner, Pittsburgh Steelers (@ Cincinnati Bengals)The Steelers are more worried about Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown than they are Le’Veon Bell currently. And it’s all because of James Conner. In his second-year out of Pitt, Conner has shown he can be a true three-down back and has made the Steelers brass look like geniuses for not caving in to Bell’s demands.Going up against Cincy, Conner should have another good outing and keep proving to everyone why he was the right man for the job this season.SIT: Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys (vs Jacksonville Jaguars)Alright folks, I know we took it on the chin last week because of some big gambles, but I just can’t go against what my instincts say.The Jaguars are going to look to make Dak Prescott beat them. This means keying in on Zeke and forcing the Cowboys to lean on their passing game more than they want. Elliott can catch and run though too, and that’s where this projection makes me nervous.SLEEPER: Marshawn Lynch, Oakland Raiders (vs Seattle Seahawks)Lynch has had some good moments and some not so good moments on his way to being this season’s RB13 thus far.I feel like he’ll have more good than bad this weekend against his former squad as the Seattle Seahawks enter the black hole.RECEIVERS (WR/TE)Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY SportsSTART: Austin Hooper, Atlanta Falcons (vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers)Alright, Austin. Thus far this season when I say start him, he flops. When I say bench him, he shows out. Since I’m a Bucs fan at heart, I’m going to go ahead and project him as a startable option this week against Tampa Bay.Problem is Ryan Fitzpatrick Jersey , this is probably the week he makes good on my projection.SIT: Kelvin Benjamin, Buffalo Bills (@ Houston Texans)There was a time Kelvin Benjamin looked like the next big thing coming out of Florida State. But then injury, and fat Kelvin emerged.Perhaps Benjamin’s career will get back on track sooner or later. Perhaps not.Either way, if it does, it won’t be with Buffalo and it won’t be in this game against the Texans.SLEEPER: Jimmy Graham, Green Bay Packers (vs San Francisco 49ers)San Francisco is giving up 9.36 points per game to fantasy football tight ends on average, which is good for eighth-most.He’s coming into this week as TE8 so far for 2018, so calling him a sleeper isn’t exactly a stretch projection, but for you DFS folks out there, Graham might be worth inserting into your lineups and save you some cap space while turning in Top-5 numbers this weekend.DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMSTrevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY SportsSTART: Houston Texans (vs Buffalo Bills)According to three PFF fantasy experts (Scott Barrett, Dan Clasgens, and Jeff Ratcliffe) the Texans will be the number-one defense in fantasy football this week.I have zero confidence in the Buffalo Bills’ offense, and must agree with those three.Of the other two who report their weekly rankings, Pat Thorman has Houston as his second unit, and Daniel Kelley has them sixth this weekend.Even if Kelley is the correct one, you’ll still be happy.SIT: New England Patriots (vs Kansas City Chiefs)I asked last weekend if the Kansas City Chiefs were the AFC’s Super Bowl favorites and got some mixed reactions.Beating the AFC team which represented the conference last should help convince some of the ones who just weren’t convinced.SLEEPER: Baltimore Ravens (@ Tennessee Titans)The Titans’ offense looks terrible. The Ravens should do pretty well.
  25. a second straight week when they visit Tampa Bay on Monday night.DeCastro is still recovering from a fractured right hand suffered during Pittsburgh's Week 1 tie against Cleveland. B.J. Finney will start in Decastro's place.DeCastro isn't the only offensive linemen hurting. Right tackle Marcus Gilbert is doubtful with a hamstring issue. Matt Feiler will start if Gilbert does not play. Safety Morgan Burnett is also doubtful with a groin injury. The Steelers expect veteran cornerback Joe Haden to return after missing last week's loss to Kansas City with a hamstring problem. Guard Ramon Foster Cheap O. J. Howard Jersey , who is monitoring a right knee issue, is also expected to play. Defensive tackle Tyson Alualu, who sat last week while dealing with a shoulder injury, is also expected to be available. Prior to the trade deadline, reports popped up that DeSean Jackson had asked for a trade out of Tampa Bay. Bucs General Manager Jason Licht was quick to say Jackson wasn’t going anywhere. But when Jackson himself spoke about it for the first time since the deadline, he didn’t exactly deny it.“Whatever them conversations were, they were between us Buccaneers DeSean Jackson Jersey ,” Jackson said when asked if he requested a deal, via Eduardo Encina of the Tampa Bay Times. “It’s over and done with now, and I’m looking forward. We’ve got eight games left to continue to try our best to get in the playoffs and win here.”So, there’s that.Jackson’s production has tailed off sharply since the first few weeks of the season, when he had three 100-yard games in the first four. Over the last four games, he’s averaging 50 yards per game and they’re no longer winning.“I don’t see it as frustration. It’s just knowing what’s in this locker room, knowing the players we have all across the board Buccaneers Jason Pierre-Paul Jersey , and knowing how talented it can be,” Jackson said. “It did show early on. That’s the frustration. So not being able to have the results the past three or four games, whatever the number is, that’s been more of the frustration for me.“It’s not individual, it’s more accomplishing what we all want to accomplish. It’s winning football games and being in the games and not shooting ourselves in the foot and getting behind. I think we’re all putting it on ourselves and we’re not playing complementary football. We need to play complementary football 鈥?offense, defense and special teams. That’s what drives my frustrations, because I know what we’re capable of doing. I know the players we have in this locker room Cheap Lavonte David Jersey , so it’s really about getting the opportunities and making the most out of them.”They’ve at least shown an ability to come back, and now that Ryan Fitzpatrick is back in the starting quarterback role, things may turn around for both Jackson and the Bucs.
  26. Green Nation Tonight http://www.brownsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-larry-ogunjobi-jersey , the Cleveland Browns play their third preseason game when they host the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. To help preview a few topics from the Eagles’ perspective, we reached out to Brandon Gowton from Bleeding Green Nation and exchanged five questions with him. (Dan Lalich took the lead this week — thanks, Dan!) Enjoy!Eagles fans are still all-in on Carson Wentz.Bill Streicher-USA TODAY SportsDan: “Are there any fans who still aren’t sold on Wentz? He had an up and down rookie year, then looked fantastic last season prior to getting injured. Playing devil’s advocate, the injury thing is starting to become a trend. Any worries about that going forward?”Brandon: “I can’t think of any Eagles fans that I know who aren’t sold on Wentz. Everyone is all-in after watching him come very close to winning the regular season NFL MVP award last year. He’s just the real deal. The perfect blend of intelligence, athletic ability, and toughness. The latter of those three attributes can lead to him being a little reckless at times, yes. But it also leads to him making some incredible plays that very few other quarterbacks in the league can pull off. Moving forward, it will be interesting to see how he performs in Year 3 as he comes off his ACL/LCL surgery. The early indications are positive considering he’s looked healthy and sharp during offseason practices. I’m very excited to see what he has in store this year. This is his revenge tour after coming so close to finishing out a special 2017 season.”Nick Foles is in Canton.Kirby Lee-USA TODAY SportsDan: “How big of a shock was Nick Foles in the playoffs last year? Prior to that stretch, how did fans in Philly feel about him, given the mixed results of his earlier run with the team? I assume now it’s just a matter of time until he gets a statue.”Brandon: “The biggest Foles fans in the world can’t reasonably say they expected him to play as well as he did in the NFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl. After mightily struggling towards the end of December (46.9 completion rate, 48.2 passer rating, 4.1 yards per attempt in his final 49 attempts of the regular season) Jarvis Landry Jersey , Foles went on to play like one of the best quarterbacks in post-season history. It’s often been said that Foles is a high variance quarterback and there is no greater example than that. Foles had a number of believers heading into the playoffs. People pointed back to the 2013 season when he threw 27 touchdowns to only two interceptions. I was admittedly more skeptical considering the stats didn’t always reflect the true quality of Foles’ performance. Given his struggles at times, I don’t think I was totally off base, but I clearly doubted him too much. There’s no question Foles will always be a legend in Philly. But his accomplishments must be remembered in the context of how Wentz left the team in great position to succeed without him. All Foles had to do was beat a listless Giants team that ended up with the No. 2 overall pick and an uninspiring Raiders squad to clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC. He didn’t even play well in one of those two games. From there, the Eagles had two straight home games before going on to play and defeat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Foles was able to do his part thanks to Wentz setting the stage very nicely for him.”Dan: “After the Cavs won the championship in 2016, it felt like a weight was lifted off of the city of Cleveland. I wouldn’t say expectations went down for fans, but there was definitely a sense of “we got one, I can die happy now.” Is that true for Philadelphia fans, or is there a different vibe?”Brandon: “100% true. This was one of my first tweets after watching the Eagles win the Super Bowl live from the stands in Minnesota:For all you Lord Of The Rings nerds out there, I recently compared the Eagles winning their first Lombardi Trophy to when Aragorn freed The Dead Men of Dunharrow after they fulfilled their promise to help him defend Minas Tirith. The city of Philadelphia can finally rest in peace. With that said, the hunger to repeat is very much real. Or it should be, at least. The Eagles have a real window here to do something that’s only been done once before in the salary cap era. Repeating won’t be easy, of course, but it doesn’t seem impossible considering the Eagles arguably have one of the best quarterback/head coach/general manager triumvirates in the league.”The Eagles don’t have Mychal Kendricks any more, but that doesn’t make linebacker their weakest position group.Ken Blaze-USA TODAY SportsDan: “What do you think are the strongest and weakest position groups on the Eagles?”Brandon: “Assuming Wentz is at full health Authentic Nick Chubb Jersey , the strongest position is quarterback. He was right in the mix for MVP last year. Then his backup won Super Bowl MVP. Third string quarterback Nate Sudfeld has had a strong preseason and looks like he could at least be a quality backup in this league. He’ll likely fill that role behind Wentz when Foles leaves after this season. Putting QB aside, since I’ve talked about that a lot already, I’d say defensive end. Brandon Graham, Michael Bennett, Chris Long, Derek Barnett, Steven Means, and Josh Sweat is a deep lineup of pass rushers. The Eagles led the NFL in total pressures generated last season (per Pro Football Focus) and their pass rush rotation is a big reason why. Some (such as maybe Mychal Kendricks) would point to linebacker as the weakest position, but my biggest concern is the defensive tackle spot right now. Fletcher Cox is an absolute beast but I don’t even know who’s going to be starting next to him. Usually it would be Timmy Jernigan but he’s going to start the season on the non-football injury list and it’s unclear if he’ll even play this year. Haloti Ngata and Destiny Vaeao aren’t difference makers. The fourth defensive tackle spot might be won by an undrafted rookie free agent. The Eagles were able to win the Super Bowl largely thanks in part to the strong play they got from the trenches. It’s disconcerting to see a weak spot on one of those units.”WR Shelton Gibson has had a big preseason for the Eagles so far.Kirt Dozier-USA TODAY SportsDan: “Who is one under-the-radar player you think Browns fans should be looking out for on Thursday?”Brandon: “Shelton Gibson is having a great summer. The 2017 fifth-round pick has amassed seven catches for 167 yards (23.9 average) and two touchdowns through two preseason games so far. He’s a big-play threat who has the ability to simply run by opposing cornerbacks. He’s not just a one-tricky pony in that regard, though, as his route-running has improved and he can get open underneath. Gibson could prove to be pesky for the Browns to cover.”Dan: “BONUS question — How many games do you realistically expect the Browns to win this year, and why is it 19?”Brandon: “I’m going to go slightly under 19 and say 鈥?4 or 5. It’s hard for me to expect a team that’s gone 1-31 over the last two years and has a very suspect coaching staff to take a massive leap this year. For the sake of Browns fans, I hope I’m wrong. I’m just having a tough time going over my projection after looking at their 2018 schedule.”Thanks again to Brandon for taking the time to answer our questions. 27. Genard Avery Jersey , mother It has been a tough two weeks for Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson. On Wednesday, Jackson’s agent John Thornton revealed to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot that Jackson has been weathering back-to-back family tragedies. His brother died unexpectedly two weeks ago and his mother, Betty Lee, passed on Sunday after a long illness.Thornton said, “It’s been really tough on him. He’s just trying to let football help him out.” Jackson himself hasn’t publicly addressed his personal life; Thornton, per Cabot, said that Jackson “wanted the focus to be on the team at the start of camp,” though Authentic Seth DeValve Jersey , understandably, “to have two tragedies like this back-to-back has been really difficult.”Being the head coach of the team featured on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” has also taken a toll on Jackson. “At any given time he’s got two cameras in his office.
