  1. Former Tennessee

RICHMOND Ryan Tannehill Jersey , Texas (AP) —Titans quarterback Vince Young is free on bond after he was arrested on a drunken driving charge. In a statement, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office says the former Texas Longhorns star was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Monday in the Missouri City area of suburban Houston. The six-year NFL veteran, who lists a Missouri City address as his residence, was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and released after posting a $500 cash bond.Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Hanel told the Houston Chronicle that “the deputy noticed slurred speech and a strong smell of alcoholic beverage.” He also said Young “flunked every sobriety test they gave to him.”Young served 18 months’ probation after pleading no contest in January 2017 to driving drunk in Austin.FOX Fantasy AutoForm a Racing Team, Compete for PrizesPlay Now! Please be assured that I have 100% creative control over what I write on so I am not forced to write on this from the management. For some reason I’m just on a marathon run through receiving prospects since it’s something the Titans need to improve. This time we’re looking at Liberian born receiver Kelvin Harmon, from NC State. Harmon, 22,is 6’3 and 214 lb, and will be 23 on December 15th. In his final season at NC State he caught 81 passes (tied for 12th in FBS play) for 1,186 yards (10th most), seven touchdowns and 14.6 yards per catch. For his efforts he was named First Team All-ACC.Harmon hasn’t received nearly as much draft hype as fellow WR classmates like D.K. Metcalf or Hakeem Butler, but I was still curious enough to watch him and see what I could take away from his tape. With that in mind, below are my thoughts on the NC State prospect.NCAAFAs a route runner, Harmon appears to be pretty consistent. He doesn’t have the most cutting edge route running material but he does display good all-around technique whenever he’s asked to run a certain route. Here, Harmon runs an excellent fake on his route. His initial movement suggests he’s running a go route and is putting his quarterback in a position to toss him a back shoulder pass. However, at the last moment Harmon digs out and it turns into a comeback route. He makes a nice sliding catch at the sideline, making sure to get at least one foot in bounds in the process.NCAAFNo one will act like zone coverage is as difficult to play against in comparison to man or press, but a strong level of awareness is still needed in order to master it. As a receiver Womens Kevin Byard Jersey , finding the right patch or spot vs. the zone is crucial to putting yourself in a position where your quarterback can throw to you and find a hole in the defense.Harmon does a great job of finding that safe spot here. As he reaches it, he stops and remains patient just long enough for his quarterback to deliver the ball to him. It’s a subtle but necessary detail in mastering receiving vs. a zone defense, and while this doesn’t go for a lot, Harmon does just enough to reach the first down marker.NCAAFHarmon isn’t the flashiest receiver coming out of the college level, but against press or on contested plays he seems to have little issue creating separation or hauling passes in at the catch point. Watch the push off he gets from his left foot just after this snap. That little move gets him plenty of outside leverage against the corner, even with safety help over the top. And it goes without saying his ball security makes this a clean catch.NCAAFHarmon’s 4.60 40-yard dash at the Combine turned off some people, but on the field he has shown he’s capable of stretching vertically and making plays there. I wouldn’t say his ability there is as strong as someone like Marquise Brown or D.K. Metcalf, but it’s not bad either.NCAAFAnd on occasion Harmon does come up with the flashy 50/50 catch. This one in particular is spectacular, and I love the concentration and angle he uses to come up with this pass. It’s not even a well placed pass either, as it should’ve been thrown to Harmon’s back shoulder, but on the other hand it allowed him to put this play on his highlight reel.I don’t think Kelvin Harmon is a spectacular athlete, but the first player that comes to mind when watching him is Pierre Garçon. Both players are extremely well rounded even if they don’t have the flashiest skill sets we’ll ever see from the receiving position. He has really good technique and should do just fine against zone, man, or press coverage. For the Titans, he’d be a nice compliment to Corey Davis and Adam Humphries if available at #19. Personally, I see him being taken in the late first or second round. He’s not my favorite receiver from this class, but I’d be lying if I said he wouldn’t be a solid addition to the Titans receiving corps.

New faces: DE Michael Bennett Jameis Winston Jersey White , DT Haloti Ngata, TE Dallas Goedert, WR Mike Wallace, LB Corey Nelson, P Cameron Johnston, rookies CB Avonte Maddox, TE Dallas Goedert, DE Josh Sweat.Key losses: RB LeGarrette Blount, TE Trey Burton, TE Brent Celek, DT Beau Allen, DE Vinny Curry, CB Patrick Robinson, WR Torrey Smith, offensive coordinator Frank Reich, quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo.Strengths: Plenty of depth at QB with Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles backing up Carson Wentz. Before he tore ACL Womens Chris Conte Jersey , Wentz had MVP-caliber season. Offensive line could be best in NFL with nine-time Pro Bowl LT Jason Peters returning from ACL injury to join pair of All-Pros 鈥?C Jason Kelce and RT Lane Johnson 鈥?and Pro Bowl RG Brandon Brooks. Defense was mostly excellent except when it faced Tom Brady.Weaknesses: Defense lacks depth at linebacker and is counting heavily on Jordan Hicks returning from his second Achilles tendon injury. Offensive line is inexperienced beyond starting five and backup T Halapoulivaati Vaitai. Johnston enters his first season.Fantasy Player To Watch: TE Zach Ertz. First-time Pro Bowl pick who caught go-ahead TD pass in Super Bowl, Ertz had 74 catches for 824 yards and eight TDs. He's Wentz's go-to guy and numbers could get better with addition of Goedert helping cause matchup problems for defenses inside red zone.Vegas Says: Super Bowl 9-1. Over/under wins 10.5.Expectations: Eagles enter season trying to become only ninth team to repeat as Super Bowl champs and first since New England following 2004 season. It won't be easy. Division opponents got better, and conference is tougher. But team is young, talented and motivated, especially Wentz because he watched Super Bowl victory from sideline. If key players stay healthy, they could make another deep run. Former NFL defensive tackle Roy Miller was arrested on child abuse charges in Jacksonville Wednesday.According to Dan Scanlan of the , it’s the second arrest in two years for the 31-year-old Miller, who was arrested on domestic violence charges in late 2017.The latest arrest report wasn’t released at the time of publication, with jail records showing the charge only.In November 2017 he was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery. He was eventually remanded to a pre-trial intervention, and he completed that program. His wife filed for divorce in January 2018, and she then re-field an injunction for domestic violence protection.Originally a third-round pick of the Buccaneers from Texas, he spent four years with the Bucs, four years with the Jaguars, and was with the Chiefs in 2017 until they released him after the first arrest. He then retired, blaming his ex-wife for trying to ruin his career.
  3. It was just the 49ers Rodgers

PDTShareTweetShareShareThe Alex Smith/Aaron Rodgers draft decision may have had further consequencesOver the week you may have been fortunate enough to catch Tyler Dunne’s Bleacher Report article going over the rocky relationship between Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Mike McCarthy. It’s a long, but insightful read, and recommended if you have a few minutes given the 49ers had a hand in that relationship going bad from the start. Given the pedigree and slow spiral the Packers have been on since winning the Super Bowl in 2011, it’s no wonder the entire dynamic of the team has been something making headlines. After the San Francisco 49ers beat the Packers at home to open 2012, more reportswere coming on Rodgers’ behavior as a teammate. In 2012,it was an anomaly. Fast forward to 2018 where it was all but certain he didn’t care much for McCarthy and his coach was on the way out. More players were speaking up to on playing with Rodgers and a lot of it wasn’t good.So how did all this happen? Well look no further than the 2005 draft. That draft left a big decision for the San Francisco 49ers: Alex Smith or Aaron Rodgers with the No. 1 pick. As everyone knows, the 49ers selected Smith and he was labeled as a bust for years until Jim Harbaugh arrived to turn his career around. Rodgers, on the other hand, went to Green Bay. Who had a hand in the decision? The then-offensive coordinator of the 49ers: Mike McCarthy. And from Dunne’s article, it looks like Rodgers resented McCarthy the moment he set foot in Green Bay for the decisions made in San Francisco: It sounds a bit bitter that Rodgers would hold that decision against McCarthy Joe Staley Jersey , but it’s also something where one can see where he’s coming from. There’s been interesting stories about being turned down for a job at a specific company, only to find the person you interviewed with turn up at the place you eventually accepted an offer at. It can be weird: the person who turned you down and went with someone else is now your boss. While we may say to Rodgers “get over it,” it’s hard to not at least sympathize with the situation. Here’s the guy who said someone was better than you.For the longest time, we’ve looked at and blamed Mike Nolan for the decision to take Smith over Rodgers. It’s obvious McCarthy had a hand in the situation, being the offensive coordinator, but it’s always been the 49ers as the focus of Rodgers’ rage for not drafting him. The decision was one that may or may not have changed the fortunes of the 49ers. If Rodgers was the No. 1 pick that year, he may have struggled just as much as Smith had, maybe worse, we don’t know. The decision makers of that blunder are out of the building and all that’s left is us to laugh at the insanity of it all. It’s just interesting that it had even more consequences. It set McCarthy up to fail at his new destination. Before this article came out, there were reports that McCarthy worked extensively with Rodgers in developing him as a quarterback while Brett Favre was starting. For the longest time several (myself included) laid the praise of Rodgers’ immediate impact as a starter on the shoulders of McCarthy. For all intents and purposes, it was safe to assume the two had a fine relationship. I’ve even argued the reason it took the Packers so long to dump McCarthy was not because of the Super Bowl win, but putting Rodgers into an unfamiliar system. Dunne indicates that’s not the case. A lot of Rodgers’ success was just because he was that darn good. The branches of that one decision went further than just the 49ers Patrick Willis Jersey , it impacted a lot of people and Rodgers seems set on making sure no one forgets. The San Francisco 49ers face a busy next seven days. The team travels to face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, and then turns around to host the Oakland Raiders on Thursday Night Football in Week 9.The quick turnaround is of particular concern given the numerous injuries the team is dealing with at present. It takes several days for a healthy player’s body to recover from a Sunday game. Add in injuries and players are even less certain to be healthy. The NFL says there is not a notable increase in injuries on TNF, but they conveniently ignore the turnaround required for players to recover on a short week.Which brings us to Richard Sherman. The 49ers cornerback is dealing with a nagging calf injury that he and head coach Kyle Shanahan have said will be something to manage most of the rest of the season. He sat out Week 7 after playing Weeks 5 and 6. This week, he was limited on Wednesday and then downgraded to DNP on Thursday.Sherman met with the media on Thursday before practice. He said he’ll work the calf and see how it feels each day. If it feels good, he’ll play, if not, he’ll shut it down. He said he was “pretty sure” he would be able to play this Sunday vs. the Cardinals, but next Thursday was a question mark. When asked if he would only be able to play one of the games, he said it was a possibility, but he’ll work to try and play in both.
  4. When the Seattle Seahawks take

on the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday in the NFC Wild Card game Youth D.K. Metcalf Jersey , one of the most watched matchups will be Dallas defensive end Demarcus Lawrence facing off against Seattle right tackle Germain Ifedi. Ifedi, who as many young offensive linemen do, struggled early in his career as he learned to use actual technique for the first time in his career, while also adjusting to the speed of the NFL game. At times it was, in a word, ugly, but as he has continued to gain experience and his use of technique has become more fluid, his play has improved. He’ll have a chance to show off that improved play on the national stage this weekend when he goes head to head with Pro Bowl defensive end Lawrence, who recorded 10.5 sacks this season, after logging 14.5 in 2017. That may seem like a tall task for Ifedi D.K. Metcalf Seattle Seahawks Jersey , but will be the third time the two have faced off in the past thirteen months. The first time they battled was in Week 16 of 2017, a game in which Lawrence recorded a sack as the Seahawks defeated the Cowboys 21-12. Then, in Week 3 of 2018 Lawrence recorded just a half a sack in another Seahawks victory 24-13. That matchup came in the midst of a murderer’s row of opposing pass rushers that Ifedi faced early in the season, as I noted in this Tweet following the announcement of the Khalil Mack trade to Chicago which drew a large amount of attention. Many fans seemed to react to that Tweet with a less than positive response, and here are some of the responses that came in:Obviously Ifedi allowed some pressure during 2017 in his first year at tackle, but nobody came up with the response I was looking for. Specifically, what I was hoping somebody, anybody, would take the time to point out was that Ifedi had faced a similar murderer’s row of pass rushers to close out 2017. Specifically, here were the pass rushers that he had to take on from Weeks 13 through Weeks 17 of last season:Week 13: Brandon Graham (9.5 sacks and 14 QB hits)Week 14: Pro Bowler Yannick Ngakoue (12.0 sacks and 23 QB hits)Week 15: 2017 DPOY Aaaron Donald (11.0 sacks and 27 QB hits)Week 16: Pro Bowler Demarcus Lawrence (14.5 sacks and 26 QB hits)Week 17: All Pro Chandler Jones (17.0 sacks and 33 QB hits). In short Ben Burr-Kirven Jersey , for all the ripping on Ifedi and all the complaining about his play, he was a second year offensive lineman in his first year at tackle who repeatedly went against top tier competition both late in 2017 and in early 2018. For all the complaining about his play and his inability to block anyone, Ifedi is likely on the verge of having his fifth year option picked up by the Seahawks, and that could lead directly to a contract extension sometime in the next year or two. Ifedi is currently just 24 years old, and so his improved play, awareness and presence could lead to him taking a leading role on the Seattle offensive line for the better part of the next decade. It could certainly make for some interesting matchups between the Hawks and Cowboys in the years to come, as Lawrence is just 26 years old. Lawrence, of course, is a free agent after this season, so his future is a little more up in the air Ben Burr-Kirven Seattle Seahawks Jersey , but at least during the Wild Card game Ifedi and Lawrence will go head to head once again, and we’ll get to see who wins the matchup this time around. The Seahawks signed kicker Sam Ficken to a reserve/futures deal, Bob Condotta of the reports. Veteran kicker Sebastian Janikowski is scheduled to become a free agent in March.Janikowski’s future would seem to be in doubt considering how his season ended. The 40 year old injured his quadricep on a 57-yard field goal try on the final play of the first half last week, leaving Seattle without a kicker in the second half of their playoff game.It was the second time Janikowski was injured during a game this season.Ficken, 26, entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and has spent time with the Jaguars, Rams and Chiefs. He is 3-of-6 on field goals in the regular season in his career and 14-of-15 on PATs and has made all three kicks — one PAT and two field goals — in the playoffs with the Rams last season.Seattle is expected to add another kicker to compete with Ficken.

an appearance from a team executive at the end of a difficult road trip temporarily re-energized the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks were outscored 20-7 during the first four games of the swing, prompting a team meeting that was attended by general manager Doug Wilson.Article continues below ...Logan Couture saw it as a reaffirmation.“The tone was we can figure this out,” the San Jose center said after the win. “We have the team to win games in this league. It takes a full buy-in from everyone to do things right, and I think tonight is a step in that direction. I thought we did a lot of the little things well tonight.”But changes were yet to come. On Tuesday, the San Jose Mercury News reported that coach Peter DeBoer made the decision to shuffle the responsibilities of his three assistants.“We’re close, but we’ve been close for 30 games now almost,” DeBoer said. “A third of the season’s over and we’re not finding the right side of that line to get more wins.”The Sharks won’t be home for long. After this game Carl Soderberg Jersey , San Jose takes on the Dallas Stars and Arizona Coyotes on consecutive nights starting Friday. But DeBoer’s club is 6-1-1 in the last eight at SAP Center and looking for a fourth consecutive home win over Carolina.Captain Joe Pavelski noted that the team willing to take that extra step is generally more successful.“At the end of the day, it usually comes down to wanting it a little bit more, competing a little bit more, sacrificing a little more,” said Pavelski, who has a team-high 17 goals. “We’ve been in a tough stretch, but it’s nice to get a win and hopefully we can keep climbing now.”That could happen against a Hurricanes team that has managed just four goals in their last four games and is coming off a 2-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday. Carolina (12-10-4) ranks near the bottom of the league with an average of 2.50 goals per game.“Michael Ferland paces the club with 11 goals, but he’s missed the last two games with a concussion and is not with the team. Sebastien Aho Gabriel Landeskog Jersey Kids , who broke out with 29 goals last season, has just seven through 26 games.“We’re going to be talking about this all year,” Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour told the team’s official website on Tuesday. “That’s our group. We need to out-chance teams to be successful.”The ‘Canes are going for a split of the season series. On Oct. 26, Carolina rallied from a pair of two-goal deficits and Brock McGinn posted the only goal in the shootout for a 4-3 victory. Both teams are reportedly getting players back in the lineup.According to the Mercury News, Sharks winger Timo Meier is expected back Wednesday after missing the last three games with an upper-body injury. He ranks second on the team with 13 goals and is tied for third with 23 points.Hurricanes defenseman Brett Pesce has been sidelined for the last nine games with a lower-body injury.“He’s given me the nod that he’s 100 percent,” Brind’Amour told the team’s official website after practice on Tuesday.Pesce has two goals and an assist in 17 games. VANCOUVER Ottawa Senators Hoodies Authentic , British Columbia (AP) — Canucks can learn a thing or two from how the Washington Capitals played against them Monday night.Vancouver’s head coach said the Capitals came out fast and strong in the 5-2 win, showcasing highly skilled athletes who consistently make plays.“They don’t just go out there and just play summer hockey. They play the game the right way,” Green said. “These are valuable experiences and lessons for our players, our young players especially.”There’s a reason the Capitals are the NHL’s reigning champions, Green added.“They’re big, they’re strong, they’re skilled, they win puck battles, they manage the puck. They do everything that Stanley Cup winning teams do. And they’re deep,” he said.“Man, that’s a good hockey team.”Alex Ovechkin had two goals and two assists for the Capitals (4-2-2) and John Carlson Ottawa Senators Hats Authentic , Evgeny Kuznetsov and T.J. Oshie also scored.Troy Stecher and Sven Baertschi responded for the Canucks (5-4-0).Braden Holtby stopped 22-of-24 shots for the Capitals and Vancouver goalie Anders Nilsson turned away 28 of 33.Penalties played a big part in the game, with Washington netting two power-play goals and the Canucks getting one of their own.Vancouver’s second goal of the night came when the Canucks had the man advantage to start the third period.Right winger Brock Boeser fired a hard shot on Holtby seconds into the frame. The puck bounced off the goalie’s pads and on to Baertschi’s stick.Holtby didn’t have time to reset before Baertschi fired a rocket past him for his third goal of the year. The Canucks have been working on capitalizing on those kind of opportunities, said center Bo Horvat.“For us on the power play, we’ve talked about taking more shots, playing more direct and not trying to be too cute. (Boeser) made the right play, put it on net and (Baertschi) was right there for the rebound,” he said. But the team also took too many penalties and Washington was able to capitalize on them, Horvat added.“They were moving their feet, getting on the forecheck, taking the play to us at times,” he said. The Capitals lead the league in power-play goals Custom Ottawa Senators Jerseys , with 12 on 31 chances.Washington coach Todd Reirden said he liked the way his group played, landing hits early on and scoring just over two minutes in.“I thought we were emotionally invested right from the drop of the puck tonight and that gave us a really good advantage,” he said.Monday’s match also showed how far Ovechkin has come as a leader, the coach said. The Capitals captain got the puck late in the third period after Vancouver had pulled Nilsson from the net. Ovechkin had an opportunity to score for the hat trick, but instead of letting a shot rip, he passed to Oshie.“To me that’s a huge thing. … He could have easily scored himself but it wasn’t even a thought,” Reirden said.“It doesn’t bother him one bit and that’s where you saw maybe a different player than maybe you saw three or four years ago that’s not focused on individual stuff.”Even Oshie questioned the move, Ovechkin said with a laugh.“(He said) ‘Why you pass me the puck?’ But he was so wide open and I try to give him pass. Save mine for next time,” said the Russian superstar, who now has eight goals in eight games this season.Monday’s game was the first in a four-game Canadian tour for the Capitals. BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) Sabres general manager Jason Botterill is drawing from his championship past in Pittsburgh to provide a boost in Buffalo. The Sabres improved their top-six forward ranks by acquiring Conor Sheary and defenseman Matt Hunwick in a trade with Pittsburgh on Wednesday. The Penguins obtained a conditional 2019 fourth-round pick that could improve to a third-rounder in move that frees up $5.5 million of space under their salary cap before the NHL’s free-agency period opens Sunday.Sheary was the key to the deal for Botterill. He’s the former Penguins assistant GM who watched the undrafted player develop in making the jump from signing a minor-league tryout contract to winning two Stanley Cup titles playing alongside Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby.”When people were saying he couldn’t do it , he found a way,” said Botterill, who had a hand in signing Sheary in 2014. ”That sort of determination and compete and work ethic something we’re looking to bring to our group.”Sheary is a dependable two-way forward who will be given an opportunity to play wing on one of Buffalo’s top lines centered by Jack Eichel or Ryan O’Reilly.Botterill valued Sheary’s playoff experience and ability to perform against other teams’ top defenders. After scoring 23 goals and 53 points in 61 games in 2016-17, Sheary’s production dropped last year, when he finished with 18 goals and 30 points in 79 games.Sheary has one year left on his contract before he is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent. The Penguins are shaking up their lineup after failing to win a third consecutive title. The trade came a day after Pittsburgh signed forward Bryan Rust to a four-year contract extension. The Penguins on Wednesday evening used some of their newfound cap space to re-sign forward Riley Sheahan to a $2.1 million, one-year contract.Hunwick is an 11-year veteran, who signed a two-year contract with the Penguins in free agency last summer. He finished with four goals and 10 points in 42 games last season. The Sabres become his fifth team in six years.Drafted in the seventh round by Boston in 2004, Hunwick played three-plus seasons with the Bruins, and has also played with Colorado, Toronto and the New York Rangers. He has 25 goals and 117 points in 521 career games.Hunwick joins Buffalo’s already crowded defensive ranks, which are expected to include 18-year-old Swedish blue-liner Rasmus Dahlin Philadelphia Flyers T-Shirts Authentic , who was selected with the No. 1 pick in the draft last week.Buffalo’s returning defensemen include Rasmus Ristolainen, Zach Bogosian, Marco Scandella and Jake McCabe.Dahlin drew a crowd of about 1,800 fans Wednesday, when the Sabres opened a four-day rookie development camp. The Sabres are coming off a disappointing season in which they finished last for the third time in five years.Botterill won’t say if he’s done attempting to improve his lineup through trades, including ongoing chatter involving O’Reilly.Botterill has acknowledged receiving interest in O’Reilly, but dismissed a report he had a deal in place to trade the center to Montreal during the draft.”I understand why people are calling on him, but the validity of a lot of the rumors are simply untrue,” Botterill said. ”I would just say from Day 1, we’ve been very happy with Ryan being part of our group.”—
  7. Minnesota Wild coach

NEWARK Womens Sean Couturier Jersey , N.J. (AP) Bruce Boudreau wasn’t patting himself on the back after putting Mike Reilly, Chris Stewart and backup goaltender Alex Stalock into the lineup against the New Jersey Devils. The three deserved a chance to play after sitting out a while. They made the most of it.Joel Eriksson Ek and Stewart scored in a 39-second span during Minnesota’s three-goal second period that Reilly ignited, and Stalock made 38 saves as the Wild rallied from two down to beat the Devils 4-2 on Thursday night.”We have a lot of guys playing the same way,” Boudreau said about his moves. ”There is no reason why some guy sits out for another guy because you are a team of 22. We are playing as a team right now, so that is what happened.”The win was the 11th in 17 games for the Wild (11-3-3) and it moved them into third place in the Central Division.Eric Staal iced the game with an empty-net goal, his 900th NHL point.”I still feel like I have a lot of hockey left in my career, but nonetheless it’s a nice even number,” Stall said of the milestone, which came on his team-high 27th goal. ”It’s been a lot of fun. A ton of credit to the guys I’ve played with over my career so far and I’m hoping for a lot more the rest of my time playing.”Taylor Hall and Stefan Noesen scored for the Devils, who have lost two in a row after a four-game winning streak. Eddie Lack made 21 saves.Hall’s 13-game point streak is the longest in NHL this season, one more than David Pastrnak of Boston.”A couple of miscues, a couple of errors on our part … giving up odd-man rushes, giving up easy tap-ins backdoor,” Hall said. ”That’s something we review and you’ve got to take care of. ”Reilly, who had sat out the last four games, got Minnesota on the board with a little luck. His shot from the point was stopped by Lack, but the rebound ricocheted off defenseman John Moore into the net at 7:28 of the second period. It came six seconds after a Minnesota power play ended.Eriksson Ek, who snapped a 50-game goal drought on Tuesday, poked a great , one-handed, cross-ice pass by Daniel Winnik past Lack at 12:25 to tie the game.Stewart, who had played in only one of the last seven games, capped the outburst with a shot from the left circle that Lack probably should have stopped. It was Stewart’s first goal since Dec. 19.”We were in control for most of the game,” Lack said. ”Guys played well enough in front of me. It’s unfortunate that Stalock outplayed me. But you know what? 8. doom the Montreal Canadiens on Monday night. But they’ll probably need to jump out quicker on Tuesday if they want to make their brief trip to New York a truly successful one.The Canadiens will look to earn a sweep of a back-to-back set Tuesday night Sonny Milano Jersey , when they visit the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden in a battle of ?Original Six? franchises. Both teams are coming off wins in their most recent games. The Canadiens overcame a two-goal first period deficit Monday night to edge the host New York Islanders, 4-3, in the shootout. The Rangers earned their third straight victory Sunday, when they beat the visiting Buffalo Sabres, 3-1.Article continues below ...The Canadiens (8-4-2) fell behind 3-1 in the first period Monday and didn’t take the lead until Joel Armia scored the lone goal in the shootout.“The alarm clock went off in the dressing room,” Montreal coach Claude Julien said afterward. “I just thought we had a slow start that first period. We weren’t ourselves. We weren’t good and we couldn’t continue that way. But we talked about what we needed to do in the dressing room and what we needed to get better and the guys just responded well.”The Rangers (6-7-1) also responded well to an internal challenge Sunday, when they held on to a third period lead against the Sabres. New York gave up the tying or go-ahead goal in the final minute of regulation in each of its previous three games, though it won two of those contests by beating San Jose and Anaheim in the shootout. On Sunday , though, the Rangers withstood a flurry by the Sabres after the latter pulled goalie Carter Hutton before Jimmy Vesey’s empty netter put the game away with 1:51 remaining.“I think we’ve definitely learned things,” Rangers defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk told reporters following the game. “The way you have to learn, unfortunately, is to get bit in the (rear end) a little bit. So, I think we did a good job of, when pucks did turn over, we held our ground Authentic Alexander Radulov Jersey , we didn’t rush out of position.”A pair of star goalies who have won the Vezina Trophy as the best net-minder in the NHL are likely to start Tuesday night.Carey Price, the Canadiens? number one goalie, should start after backup Antti Niemi played and earned the win Monday night. Price, who won the Vezina Trophy as well as the Hart Trophy as the NHL?s Most Valuable Player during the 2014-15 season, made his most recent start Saturday, when he took the loss after recording 32 saves as Montreal fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning, 4-1.Lundqvist, who won the Vezina Trophy in 2011-12 Ben Bishop Jersey , earned the win Sunday, when he made 39 saves against the Sabres. He has started five of the Rangers’ last six games.Price is 16-6-1 in 24 career appearances against the Rangers. Lundqvist is 15-17-3 in 36 games against the Canadiens. Nathan MacKinnon was a legitimate MVP candidate last spring but finished second to Taylor Hall of the New Jersey Devils in the voting.Had he gotten off to a faster start in 2017-18, the Colorado Avalanche center might have won the Hart Trophy over Hall.He won’t have to worry about a slow start to this season hurting his chances. After scoring just one goal in his first 10 games last year, MacKinnon has five goals in the first four games this year. He scored two in Colorado’s 6-1 win at Buffalo on Thursday night, and he hopes to keep the momentum going when the Avalanche host the Calgary Flames on Saturday night.Article continues below ...It took MacKinnon 15 games last year to get his fifth goal and he still finished with a career-high 39. After putting in a lot of work in the offseason, 39 goals looks like a low number or MacKinnon.“It’s always nice to get off to a good start,” he told reporters after Thursday’s win. “It takes some pressure off you, for sure. You get a few on the board quick and early. Last year wasn’t a great start for me , but I got going. Hopefully, I can continue this momentum for the whole season.”The Avalanche (3-1) hope their fast start overall can continue and prove the loss in Columbus was a blip. They responded with a big win over the Sabres, now they have one home game before heading back on the road for four more.Colorado, which assigned center Sheldon Dries to the AHL on Friday, is getting contributions from all four lines and the defense, which has translated into 17 goals in the first four games.Calgary (2-2) is coming of a 5-3 loss at St. Louis on Thursday night. The Flames took a 1-0 lead on a goal by free-agent signee James Neal but then the Blues scored three straight, including one 12 seconds after Neal. There was a scary moment when Calgary superstar Johnny Gaudreau took a big hit from St. Louis forward Alex Steen after Gaudreau grabbed Brayden Schenn. He came up wincing but said he was fine.“The slash was a little more than the hit, but I’m alright Adam Clendening Jersey Womens ,” Gaudreau told after the game. “(Schenn) got me in the hand there. I kind of looked down and the guy stepped up and hit me.”Gaudreau is a lithe 165 pounds and one of the faster players in the league. He has taken a couple of hits this season, which is worrisome, but Gaudreau shrugged them off.“In Nashville the guy poked my skate out and I probably would have avoided the hit if I didn’t get my skate poked out, and tonight I looked down at my finger when I got slashed and didn’t see the guy step up on me,” he told “Both probably would have been avoided if those two plays didn’t happen before the hit.”Colorado fans would rather have the dynamic Gaudreau on the ice, as long as the Avalanche win. With the way MacKinnon is playing they have a good chance, even with Gaudreau in the lineup.

The pairing provided immediate dividends in Schwartz’s first game back Mark Scheifele Jersey , a 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday, with Perron scoring twice, Schwartz assisting both times and Schenn assisting once. While players have been in and out of the lineup, the penalty kill has been consistent. The Blues have killed 18 straight man advantages heading into their home game against the Colorado Avalanche on Friday night, a stretch dating back to Dec. 1.Article continues below ...The Blues’ penalty kill is at 84.8 percent, fourth in the league.“Goaltending’s been great,” Blues center Ryan O’Reilly told “There’s been times with some huge saves, but also our ‘D’ is making massive blocks. I think we’re on the same page. I think the coaching staff’s good. I think they’ve been doing a great job all season of having us prepared and (knowing) what’s going on, but I think one thing that would be nice, is we stay out of the box more.”Because of injuries, the line of Schwartz Mathieu Perreault Jersey , Schenn and Perron has only played together three times this season, against Calgary in the third game of the season, at Montreal in October and Tuesday.Perron had a hat trick against Calgary, with Schenn assisting on all three goals. Against Montreal, Schenn scored a power play goal with Perron assisting.“You’ve got Schwartz who gets in there skating and forechecking, creates loose pucks,” Blues interim coach Craig Berube told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “Brayden Schenn is a power-type forward too, good forechecker, physical, he’s around the net a lot, and you’ve got a finisher. David Perron is a very highly skilled player Patrik Berglund Jersey Womens , great hands, he can pass or shoot. Kind of a good combination all around.”Schenn likes playing with Perron and Schwartz.“At the start of the year we had chemistry, then a couple of us got banged up there, and were unable to be put back together,” Schenn told the Post-Dispatch. “There’s a chance now and through one game we felt we had a good game. We have something to build on and we just want keep on getting better.”The Blues beat the Avalanche 3-2 in overtime at Colorado on Nov. 30.Colorado is coming off a 6-4 loss to the Edmonton Oilers at home Tuesday and have lost three of their last four.“We touched on the Edmonton game a little bit, we watched video … We did some good things in that game, obviously the result wasn’t there, but there are definitely some things we can fix up,” Avalanche forward Matt Calvert told“We’ve got a big stretch coming up before we get four days off for Christmas and quite a bit of those are at home. We’ve got to come out with a better effort in front of our home crowd, get them involved earlier and have some fun with this before we get the break.” TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Lightning return home Tuesday from a five-game road trip to host a playoff rematch against the New Jersey Devils. But Tampa Bay faces the Devils without Norris Trophy winning defenseman Victor Hedman and Selke-caliber forward Ondrej Palat. Both players were injured on the recent road trip and expected to miss at least the next two games.Hedman suffered an undisclosed upper-body injury in the second period against Vegas on Friday when he was hit by Ryan Reaves and fell awkwardly in to the boards , appearing to injury his shoulder/back area. Palat was also injured against the Golden Knights midway through the third period when he blocked a shot off his foot.Article continues below ...Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said on Monday that Hedman, who was schedule to be evaluated at the end of the week, could now miss more time than originally thought while the team is waiting on further testing to determine Palat’s absence while listing him as day-to-day.“Victor will be re-evaluated here, but we are not expecting him back right away,” Cooper said. “And Palat we are waiting for some more information.”Both players have been ruled out for through the end of the week while a pair of weekend road games at Montreal and Ottawa look “doubtful” at this point, according to the Lightning coach.“Anytime you miss one game, I think that’s a lot of time,” Cooper said. “But the games will add up here, especially we’re playing every second night now and games are back-to-backs, when you miss a week or two that means you are missing six or seven games, which is tough. But both guys are healing and hopefully they’ll be back soon.”While the Lightning are dealing with injuries Patrik Laine Jersey , the Devils are getting healthier.Goaltender Corey Schneider, who has been out since the start of the season, has returned from a three-game conditioning assignment in the American Hockey League and will join the team to start the seven-game road trip that will keep the Devils away from Prudential Center through Nov. 11. New Jersey head coach John Hynes said Schneider will make an appearance at some point on the trip. Eddie Lack, who had been serving as the backup to Keith Kinkaid, was sent to Binghamton on Monday for a conditioning assignment.“He’s going to play, but right now what I think is important is that we take it day-by-day with the goalies,” Hynes told the Bergen County Record. “Keith is going to go [against the Lightning] and then we’ve got Wednesday into Thursday to see where he is. But we do have a back-to-back coming up and we’ve got a lot of games coming up.”In addition to Schneider, injured defenseman Ben Lovejoy was back at practice for the first time since suffering a lower-body injury on Oct. 28 while forward Drew Stafford practiced with the team for the first time since Oct. 20 when he suffered an upper-body injury against Philadelphia on Oct. 20.While Stafford will remain behind to start the trip, he is expected to join the team at some point. 12. As five years of hockey

NEWARK Danton Heinen Jersey Kids , N.J. (AP) frustration ended for the New Jersey Devils, players embraced, raised their sticks to salute their long-suffering fans and just imagined what the future held. The New Jersey Devils are back in the playoffs for the first time since 2012, knowing they have a shot at the Stanley Cup, like 15 other teams after clinching a postseason berth with a 2-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night. No tee times this year. No vacation. The real hockey starts next week.”There’s certain moments in your life and certain moments in a season that you want to be able to celebrate,” Devils coach John Hynes said. ”This is one of them. It’s a significant accomplishment for us to be able to get ourselves back into the Stanley Cup Playoffs.”What the Devils did this season was remarkable. They finished last in the Eastern Conference with 28 wins and 70 points.Their win over the Maple Leafs was their 44th of the season and gave them 97 points with a game to go in the regular season. Patrick Maroon did most of the important work against the Leafs, setting up second-period goals by Pavel Zacha and Miles Wood to provide the margin of victory. After that, it was just a matter of holding off the playoff-bound Maple Leafs , who pushed in the third period.Keith Kinkaid, the mainstay in goal since the end of January, made 31 saves as the Devils won their fourth straight and extended their points streak to eight games (7-0-1). He preserved the lead with a stop in close on Auston Matthews with just over seven minutes to playHe called the final 10 minutes stressful and exciting.”The fans were into it,” he said. ”That’s an unreal atmosphere out there. You hear how loud they were. Everyone is battling. Everyone is back-checking. Everyone is doing all the little things and we’re a really hard team to play against when we do that.”When the final horn sounded there was a sense of accomplishment. A cheer went up when the Stanley Cup logo and the Devils’ logo were shown on the overhead scoreboard.Center Travis Zajac skated behind defenseman and captain Andy Greene and hugged him. It’s been a long five years for the only two holdovers from the 2012 team that lost the Stanley Cup Final to the Kings.”We’re a group that doesn’t give up,” Greene said. ”We are relentless. We play for each other. We play hard for each other.”The Devils also earned this spot, going 10-2-1 in its past 13 games.William Nylander scored on a power play in the first period for Toronto to ice his second straight 20-goal season. Frederik Andersen was outstanding, making 37 saves, including saves on breakaways by Taylor Hall and Michael Grabner in the big second period. The loss was only the fourth in 13 games (9-4) for the Maple Leafs Authentic David Pastrnak Jersey , who will face either Boston or Tampa Bay in the first round of the playoffs.”They are a good team,” Toronto defenseman Jake Gardiner said. ”That’s as close to playoff hockey as we are going to get right now. That was kind of us last year, fighting for a spot to get in. They played hard. They played well. They didn’t give us too much.”New Jersey, which is currently the first wild card in the Eastern Conference, will have to wait for its playoff opponent to be decided. While the Devils had the majority of shots for the first 27-plus minutes, they fell behind 1-0 when Nylander scored from the right circle 12 seconds after Nico Hischier was called for tripping.Zacha didn’t tie the game until 7:55 of the second period. He won a puck along the boards in center ice, worked a give-and-go with Maroon entering the Toronto zone and beat Andersen with a shot from the left circle just under the crossbar.Maroon, who was acquired in a trade deadline deal with Edmonton Jake DeBrusk Jersey , did all the work on Wood’s 18th goal. He fended off Nazem Kadri carrying the puck from in front of his bench, all the way behind the net and then came out the other side and found Wood alone in front for a slam dunk.NOTES: Matthews extended his point-scoring streak to eight games with an assist on Nylander’s goal. … The Devils won the season series 2-0-1. … Hall’s nine-game points scoring streak and four-game goals run were snapped. …. The 36-year-old from Quebec won the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 2015 and most recently played for the Ducks, but he didn’t sign with a team after becoming a free agent last summer.“I am immensely grateful for all these incredible years punctuated by memorable moments that I will cherish forever,” Vermette said in a statement sent through the NHL Players’ Association. “It was a privilege sharing my daily life with teammates, to forging friendships that will endure well beyond the victories and defeats.”In the faceoff circle Womens Patrice Bergeron Jersey , Vermette had far more victories than defeats. He won 56.6 percent of his faceoffs, the ninth-best mark since the league began tracking the statistic in 1997-98.Vermette’s 8,948 faceoff wins are 14th-most all-time, and he led the league in faceoff percentage in his final season in 2017-18. Longtime agent Allan Walsh said Vermette constantly worked on his faceoff techniques always looking for an edge and was proud of his expertise in that department.“He was a guy that would always be relied upon to go out there in key moments of a game, especially faceoffs in the defensive zone or offensive zone to go out there and win the faceoff,” Walsh said. “We know how important possession is nowadays. Being able to control the puck on the (power play or penalty kill) or the last minute and a half of the game with a faceoff in the O-zone with the goalie on the bench is sometimes half the battle right there.”Vermette put up 228 goals and 287 assists for 515 points in 1,046 regular-season games. He had 28 points and a faceoff percentage of 57.9 during 97 playoff games and helped the Blackhawks win the Cup in 2015 after being picked up at the trade deadline.“Obviously, he played a different role based on how strong the team was and especially down the middle Karl Alzner Jersey Womens ,” Walsh said. “He’s a guy that whether it was to be more of a two-way shutdown guy or to be counted on to provide offense, he had some years where he scored a lot of goals and put up a lot of points.”Vermette also had a 482-game ironman streak that lasted from March 2009 until October 2015.
  13. GLENDALE Authentic Alexander Radulov Jersey , Ariz. (AP) Coyotes aren’t going to the NHL playoffs this season. However, that doesn’t mean they’re taking it easy against contending teams.Ekman-Larsson scored twice late in the third period, including his 100th career goal, to lead the Coyotes to a 5-2 win over the Calgary Flames on Monday night. The 26-year-old is just the second Coyotes defenseman to reach the milestone and the 18th player in franchise history to do so.”That just means I’m doing something good out there,” Ekman-Larsson said. The Coyotes previously hung tough into the third period before losing against playoff-bound Nashville and Minnesota, and beat Los Angeles in a shootout.”We understand we are not in the playoffs, but we understand we are playing teams that are going in the playoffs,” Coyotes assistant coach John MacLean said. ”We understand we have to match their intensity … we didn’t back off all night.”Max Domi also had two goals for Arizona, including an empty-netter with 21 seconds left, and had an assist on Ekman-Larsson’s tiebreaking goal. Richard Panik scored early in the second period for the Coyotes, and Antti Raanta stopped 42 shots.Dougie Hamilton had a goal and an assist, and Sean Monahan also scored as Calgary – with its wild card hopes fading – lost for the fourth time in five games. Mike Smith finished with 25 saves.Domi stole a pass in the Calgary zone and beat Smith to tie the score at 2-2 with about 2 1/2 minutes left in the second period. Both teams missed several scoring chances in the third period until Ekman-Larsson put the Coyotes ahead with 3:41 remaining, then added an empty-netter 2:04 later for his 13th of the season to double the lead.Smith started his first game at Gila River Arena since the Flames acquired him from Arizona last summer. A video tribute to the Coyotes’ all-time leader in games played and shutouts among goalies was shown during a stoppage in play in the first period, and Smith offered a quick wave after being welcomed back.”It’s disappointing Ben Bishop Jersey , frustrating, you think you have an opportunity to get some points here tonight and you let it slip away,” Smith said. ”So it hurts. We needed tonight’s game. It was a big game for us and we let it slide again.”Arizona went up 1-0 on Panik’s goal at 5:15 of the second. Panik fired in a wrist shot from his knees off Clayton Keller’s cross-ice pass. Keller, a rookie, scored a point in his fifth straight game and has nine in his last 10 games. BUFFALO , N.Y. (AP) — While keeping open the possibility of a late playoff push, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid acknowledged how much losing has worn on him this year. In Buffalo, Sabres captain Jack Eichel grew irritated when asked about his team’s inability to win consecutive games in nearly three months.“I don’t have an answer for you right now,” Eichel said following a 5-2 loss at Toronto on Saturday, a day after beating Pittsburgh. What’s becoming abundantly clear since McDavid and Eichel were selected with the top two picks in the 2015 draft is it takes more than the arrival of a so-called “once-in-a-generation” star to transform a losing team into a contender.“It’s a team sport. Things don’t get fixed with one player,” Sabres forward Kyle Okposo said before a 4-3 loss to the Oilers on Monday night. “They can certainly help. But it’s a collective effort.”The game against Edmonton was an example of Okposo’s viewpoint. Eichel scored twice, including his career-high-matching 25th, but the Sabres squandered a 3-1 second-period lead.McDavid and Eichel are the faces of their respective franchises based on both production and salary. The 22-year-old McDavid is in the first season of an eight-year, $100 million contract, and the 22-year-old Eichel is in the first season of an eight-year, $80 million deal.Their respective teams have barely made a dent in the standings, with both entering the final month of the season in jeopardy of missing the playoffs. The comparisons are striking. The Oilers have advanced to the playoffs just once with McDavid, in 2016-17, when they were knocked out in the second round by San Jose. Buffalo is in the midst of a franchise-worst seven-year playoff drought Adam Clendening Jersey Womens , and finished last overall twice with Eichel. Both teams also have changed GMs and coaches since 2015. The Oilers fired general manager Peter Chiarelli and coach Todd McLellan in separate moves this season. The Sabres dismissed GM Tim Murray and coach Dan Bylsma in April 2017.It doesn’t come close to the expectations right after the 2015 draft in Florida, where the Canadian-born McDavid was picked first and the American Eichel second, to the delight of each team’s respective fan base.As much as McDavid and Eichel dislike the comparisons to each other, they’re in agreement in saying how unfair the expectations were.“I don’t think that’s possible at all,” McDavid said of one player changing a franchise’s trajectory. “I don’t think in this league, where it’s so competitive each and every night, that one guy can change it.”McDavid has won two scoring titles and was the league’s MVP in 2017.Overall, McDavid’s 348 points (120 goals, 228 assists) in 271 games are third among NHL players since 2015-16. Eichel has 249 points (98 goals, 151 assists) in 272 games, and ranks 29th over the same span following Monday’s game.Inconsistency has all but scuttled the Sabres’ playoff chances this season. In going 13-22-6 since a 10-game winning streak in November, they’ve gone from briefly sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings to 11th, and nine points out of contention. It’s a slide during which Buffalo has failed to win consecutive games since Dec. 11-13. Eichel has been among the few constants. His worst point drought lasted five games.“It’s a team game and you need everyone pulling in the same direction,” said Eichel Devin Shore Jersey , who has a career-best 72 points this season. “It’s the best league in the world. You can’t expect it to be easy. And I think we all expected it to be hard, and I think it has been.”The Oilers slipped out of the playoff race following a 1-8-2 skid that began on Jan. 19. Edmonton has rebounded by going 5-1-2 in its past eight, but still sits 11th in the West, and six points out of contention. With 33 goals and 59 assists, McDavid is the first Oilers’ player to reach 90 points in three consecutive seasons since Jari Kurri (1983-1990) and Mark Messier (1987-90).“Connor does a ton for us, and obviously, you see the offensive numbers, but it’s more than that,” forward Sam Gagner said when asked how the Oilers might miss the playoffs despite McDavid’s contributions.“We still feel like we have an opportunity to get back in this,” Gagner added. “We’re still in the playoff picture. And hopefully we can get there and put that issue to rest.”

Oshi and Nicklas Backstrom on the ice. Ovechkin now has 232 career power play goals, tied for ninth all-time.“To completely take him away, other guys are just too open and they’re good enough to score,” Niskanen told the Washington Post. “Are you going to leave (Oshi) open in the slot from the hash marks to cover Ovi? … Guys are good at reading what’s open. It’s pretty lethal.”Rangers coach David Quinn came away impressed by Washington’s power play.“It’s amazing watching them, how calm they are. They don’t get rattled,” he told “There’s a confidence to them and a swagger to them, which they should have. They’ve been playing together a long time , and they’re the defending Stanley Cup champions, so they should play with a swagger.”John Carlson had a goal and two assists, Backstrom had two assists, and Braden Holtby made 29 saves for Washington.Holtby is 10-2-1 with a 2.36 goals-against average (GAA) and .920 save percentage against the Panthers. A day before, the same unit allowed two goals in a 5-1 road loss at Columbus.”It’s been a little bit up and down lately,” Grubauer said of the team’s overall performance. ”You’ve got to find a way to make sure the next one is as good as this one.”Erik Karlsson had a goal and an assist a day after Ottawa elected not to deal the All-Star defenseman at the NHL trade deadlineMike Hoffman added his 18th goal on a second-period power play for the Senators, who have lost five straight overall and 22 of their last 25 on the road.Ottawa’s man-advantage struggles included failing to score during two 5-on-3 stretches that totaled 2:20, though Hoffman’s goal came seconds after the first one ended. (AP) — After a night when they produced very little, the Florida Panthers‘ top line clicked to spark a winning rally in the third period Saturday night.Jonathan Huberdeau scored with 1:06 left and Florida came back in the final period for a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.Florida mounted the winning rush when Keith Yandle sent a long stretch-pass to Evgenii Dadonov along the boards near the Florida offensive zone. Dadonov slid a pass back to Aleksander Barkov, who found Huberdeau skating in cross-ice on the back door for his 10th goal.“Me and Barky were talking to each other and we were like, there’s no way nothing is going to happen,” Huberdeau said. “We had so many chances. Finally it happened at the end. We just stuck with it and it worked out for us.”The play wouldn’t have started without a heads-up pass by Yandle, who saw Dadonov alone halfway down the ice.“It was a great play by (Dadonov) stretching the zone and getting open. Those guys did their magic. It’s what they do. They play big for us every night and find ways to win us games,” Yandle said.Flyers interim head coach Scott Gordon said it was a risky play by Florida, who improved to 5-0-3 in the second game of back-to-back contests.“It started off, they got possession and went into a set breakout. When that happens, you have to get into your position. They just took off. And as soon as they took off, they fired it up the boards. … It’s a bit of a hope play by them,” Gordon said.Down 1-0, Florida’s second-ranked power play finally put the Panthers on the board in the third period. Huberdeau slid a pass through the slot to Mike Hoffman, who buried his team-leading 18th goal at 13:16 to tie it at 1.In Florida’s 5-3 home loss on Friday to Montreal , the Panthers top line produced just one assist.“I loved Barkov’s line all game,” Florida coach Bob Boughner said. “I think Dadonov had six or seven chances. But we didn’t stop coming. We just kept bringing our game and putting pucks behind them. It was a big difference from last night’s game and today’s game.”Shayne Gostisbehere scored for the Flyers, who lost their second straight.Barkov had two assists, and James Reimer stopped 34 shots. Carter Hart had 34 saves for the Flyers.Just like the night before in a 5-3 home loss to Montreal, the Panthers fell behind in the opening minutes. Gostisbehere sent in his fifth goal after a pass from Jordan Weal on 3-on-2 rush at 1:45 of the first period.Philadelphia killed 40 seconds of a 5-on-3 power play and the remaining 1:20 with the Panthers on the man advantage in the middle portion of the period.Hart stood strong in the second period as the Panthers put nine shots on goal, with a few being good scoring chances. He stuffed Denis Malgin in the first minute after a slick drop-pass by defenseman Mike Matheson as he went behind the Flyers’ goal. The 20-year-old goalie denied Dadonov twice in a minute — once point-blank from the middle of the slot at 14:03, the other when the Russian forward circled behind Hart’s goal and lifted a high shot from in close that Hart held.NOTES: With Flyers third-line center Nolan Patrick (upper body) expected to be out the next four to five days, Weal centered a line between Scott Laughton and Michael Raffl after being out most of December.
